The one who refuses correction despises himself, but whoever hears reproof acquires understanding.

The king’s terrifying anger is like the roar of a lion; whoever provokes him sins against himself.

Therefore they will eat from the fruit of their way, and they will be stuffed full of their own counsel.

The one who loves discipline loves knowledge, but the one who hates reproof is stupid.

And at the end of your life you will groan when your flesh and your body are wasted away.And you will say,“ How I hated discipline! My heart spurned reproof!

The one who hates me hates my Father too.If I had not performed among them the miraculous deeds that no one else did, they would not be guilty of sin. But now they have seen the deeds and have hated both me and my Father.

The wicked will be captured by his own iniquities, and he will be held by the cords of his own sin.He will die because there was no discipline; because of the greatness of his folly he will reel.

Throw away all your sins you have committed and fashion yourselves a new heart and a new spirit! Why should you die, O house of Israel?

Now this is the basis for judging: that the light has come into the world and people loved the darkness rather than the light, because their deeds were evil.For everyone who does evil deeds hates the light and does not come to the light, so that their deeds will not be exposed.

Let anyone who has no love for the Lord be accursed. Our Lord, come!

How much greater punishment do you think that person deserves who has contempt for the Son of God, and profanes the blood of the covenant that made him holy, and insults the Spirit of grace?
