The person who has my commandments and obeys them is the one who loves me. These words I am commanding you today must be kept in mind,and you must teach them to your children and speak of them as you sit in your house, as you walk along the road, as you lie down, and as you get up.You should tie them as a reminder on your forearm and fasten them as symbols on your forehead.Inscribe them on the doorframes of your houses and gates.

Listen, my child, to the instruction from your father, and do not forsake the teaching from your mother.

Give me understanding so that I might observe your law, and keep it with all my heart.

You must keep carefully all these commandments I am giving you today so that you may live, increase in number, and go in and occupy the land that the LORD promised to your ancestors.

Again, however, pay very careful attention, lest you forget the things you have seen and disregard them for the rest of your life; instead teach them to your children and grandchildren.

“ But I will make a new covenant with the whole nation of Israel after I plant them back in the land,” says the LORD.“ I will put my law within them and write it on their hearts and minds. I will be their God and they will be my people.

You have destroyed my people by failing to acknowledge me! Because you refuse to acknowledge me, I will reject you as my priests. Because you reject the law of your God, I will reject your descendants.

I will find delight in your commands, which I love.I will lift my hands to your commands, which I love, and I will meditate on your statutes.ז( Zayin)

I will never forget your precepts, for by them you have revived me.

What I am commanding you today is to love the LORD your God, to walk in his ways, and to obey his commandments, his statutes, and his ordinances. Then you will live and become numerous and the LORD your God will bless you in the land which you are about to possess.However, if you turn aside and do not obey, but are lured away to worship and serve other gods,I declare to you this very day that you will certainly perish! You will not extend your time in the land you are crossing the Jordan to possess.Today I invoke heaven and earth as a witness against you that I have set life and death, blessing and curse, before you. Therefore choose life so that you and your descendants may live!I also call on you to love the LORD your God, to obey him and be loyal to him, for he gives you life and enables you to live continually in the land the LORD promised to give to your ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.”

In my heart I store up your words, so I might not sin against you.

I have wandered off like a lost sheep. Come looking for your servant, for I do not forget your commands.

See my pain and rescue me! For I do not forget your law.

Be on guard so that you do not forget the covenant of the LORD your God that he has made with you, and that you do not make an image of any kind, just as he has forbidden you.
