鼎可以試驗銀、爐可以試驗金、稱譽可以試驗人、

The crucible for silver and the furnace for gold, but people are tested by their praise.

Fire tests silver, and heat tests gold. But people are tested by the praise they receive.

The crucible is for silver, and the furnace is for gold, and a man is tested by his praise.

Fire tests the purity of silver and gold, but a person is tested by being praised.

As a crucible refines silver, and a smelter refines gold, so a person should refine his praise.

Now in all Israel there was no one who was praised as much as Absalom for his good looks. From the sole of his foot to the crown of his head there was no blemish in him.

that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ,

So Absalom stole the hearts of the men of Israel.Now it came to pass after forty years that Absalom said to the king,“ Please, let me go to Hebron and pay the vow which I made to the Lord.For your servant took a vow while I dwelt at Geshur in Syria, saying,‘ If the Lord indeed brings me back to Jerusalem, then I will serve the Lord.’”And the king said to him,“ Go in peace.” So he arose and went to Hebron.Then Absalom sent spies throughout all the tribes of Israel, saying,“ As soon as you hear the sound of the trumpet, then you shall say,‘ Absalom reigns in Hebron!’”And with Absalom went two hundred men invited from Jerusalem, and they went along innocently and did not know anything.Then Absalom sent for Ahithophel the Gilonite, David’s counselor, from his city— from Giloh— while he offered sacrifices. And the conspiracy grew strong, for the people with Absalom continually increased in number.

For You, O God, have tested us; You have refined us as silver is refined.

Therefore, when Saul saw that he behaved very wisely, he was afraid of him.But all Israel and Judah loved David, because he went out and came in before them.

Then the princes of the Philistines went out to war. And so it was, whenever they went out, that David behaved more wisely than all the servants of Saul, so that his name became highly esteemed.

Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you;

The words of the Lord are pure words, Like silver tried in a furnace of earth, Purified seven times.
