Also the Lord tells you that He will make you a house.“ When your days are fulfilled and you rest with your fathers, I will set up your seed after you, who will come from your body, and I will establish his kingdom.He shall build a house for My name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever.I will be his Father, and he shall be My son. If he commits iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men and with the blows of the sons of men.But My mercy shall not depart from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I removed from before you.And your house and your kingdom shall be established forever before you. Your throne shall be established forever.”’”According to all these words and according to all this vision, so Nathan spoke to David.

So David said to Saul,“ Who am I, and what is my life or my father’s family in Israel, that I should be son-in-law to the king?”But it happened at the time when Merab, Saul’s daughter, should have been given to David, that she was given to Adriel the Meholathite as a wife.Now Michal, Saul’s daughter, loved David. And they told Saul, and the thing pleased him.So Saul said,“ I will give her to him, that she may be a snare to him, and that the hand of the Philistines may be against him.” Therefore Saul said to David a second time,“ You shall be my son-in-law today.”And Saul commanded his servants,“ Communicate with David secretly, and say,‘ Look, the king has delight in you, and all his servants love you. Now therefore, become the king’s son-in-law.’”So Saul’s servants spoke those words in the hearing of David. And David said,“ Does it seem to you a light thing to be a king’s son-in-law, seeing I am a poor and lightly esteemed man?”

Then Amaziah said to Amos:“ Go, you seer! Flee to the land of Judah. There eat bread, And there prophesy.But never again prophesy at Bethel, For it is the king’s sanctuary, And it is the royal residence.”Then Amos answered, and said to Amaziah:“ I was no prophet, Nor was I a son of a prophet, But I was a sheepbreeder And a tender of sycamore fruit.Then the Lord took me as I followed the flock, And the Lord said to me,‘ Go, prophesy to My people Israel.’
