Hearing good news from a land far away is like drinking cold water when you are tired.

The cheerful look of a messenger brings joy to your heart. And good news gives health to your body.

What a beautiful sight it is to see messengers coming with good news! How beautiful to see them coming down from the mountains with a message about peace! How wonderful it is when they bring the good news that we are saved! How wonderful when they say to Zion,“ Your God rules!”

And how can anyone preach without being sent? It is written,“ How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”( Isaiah 52:7)

Does the snow ever disappear from Lebanon’s rocky slopes? Do its cool waters ever stop flowing from places far away?

“ Come, all you who are thirsty. Come and drink the water I offer to you. You who do not have any money, come. Buy and eat the grain I give you. Come and buy wine and milk. You will not have to pay anything for it.

God, you are my God. I seek you with all my heart. With all my strength I thirst for you in this dry desert where there isn’t any water.

David longed for a drink of water. He said,“ I wish someone would get me water from the well near the gate of Bethlehem.”

So they argued with Moses. They said,“ Give us water to drink.” Moses replied,“ Why are you arguing with me? Why are you testing the Lord?”But the people were thirsty for water there. So they told Moses they weren’t happy with him. They said,“ Why did you bring us up out of Egypt? Did you want us, our children and our livestock to die of thirst?”

I will stand there in front of you by the rock at Mount Horeb. Hit the rock. Then water will come out of it for the people to drink.” So Moses hit the rock while the elders of Israel watched.

Here is a saying that you can trust. It should be accepted completely. Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners. And I am the worst sinner of all.

Look at the mountains of Judah! I see a messenger running to bring good news! He’s telling us that peace has come! People of Judah, celebrate your feasts. Carry out your promises. The evil Assyrians won’t attack you again. They’ll be completely destroyed.

A deer longs for streams of water. God, I long for you in the same way.I am thirsty for God. I am thirsty for the living God. When can I go and meet with him?

The Holy Spirit and the bride say,“ Come!” And the person who hears should say,“ Come!” Anyone who is thirsty should come. Anyone who wants to take the free gift of the water of life should do so.

It was the last and most important day of the feast. Jesus stood up and spoke in a loud voice. He said,“ Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink.

But the angel said to them,“ Do not be afraid. I bring you good news. It will bring great joy for all the people.Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you. He is the Messiah, the Lord.

He said to me,“ It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give water to anyone who is thirsty. The water will come from the spring of the water of life. It doesn’t cost anything!

Samson was very thirsty. So he cried out to the Lord. He said,“ You have helped me win this great battle. Do I have to die of thirst now? Must I fall into the power of people who haven’t even been circumcised? They aren’t your people.”Then God opened up the hollow place in Lehi. Water came out of it. When Samson drank the water, his strength returned. He felt as good as new. So the spring was called En Hakkore. It’s still there in Lehi.

Then she sat down about as far away as a person can shoot an arrow. She thought,“ I can’t stand to watch the boy die.” As she sat there, she began to sob.God heard the boy crying. Then the angel of God called out to Hagar from heaven. He said to her,“ What is the matter, Hagar? Do not be afraid. God has heard the boy crying as he lies there.Lift up the boy and take him by the hand. I will make him into a great nation.”Then God opened Hagar’s eyes, and she saw a well of water. So she went and filled the bottle with water and gave the boy a drink.
