Surely you need guidance to wage war, and victory is won through many advisers.

If you go to war, you surely need guidance. If you want to win, you need many good advisers.

for by wise guidance you can wage your war, and in abundance of counselors there is victory.

So don’t go to war without wise guidance; victory depends on having many advisers.

for you should wage war with sound guidance— victory comes with many counselors.

Or what king, going out to confront another king in battle, will not sit down first and determine whether he is able with ten thousand to oppose the one coming against him with twenty thousand?

I have competed well; I have finished the race; I have kept the faith!

Each competitor must exercise self- control in everything. They do it to receive a perishable crown, but we an imperishable one.So I do not run uncertainly or box like one who hits only air.Instead I subdue my body and make it my slave, so that after preaching to others I myself will not be disqualified.

Plans fail when there is no counsel, but with abundant advisers they are established.

But you, as a person dedicated to God, keep away from all that. Instead pursue righteousness, godliness, faithfulness, love, endurance, and gentleness.Compete well for the faith and lay hold of that eternal life you were called for and made your good confession for in the presence of many witnesses.
