Do not lie in wait like the wicked against the place where the righteous live; do not assault his home.

Do not lurk like a thief near the house of the righteous, do not plunder their dwelling place;

Don’t hide and wait like a burglar near a godly person’s house. Don’t rob their home.

Lie not in wait as a wicked man against the dwelling of the righteous; do no violence to his home;

Don’t wait in ambush at the home of the godly, and don’t raid the house where the godly live.

Don’t set an ambush, you wicked one, at the camp of the righteous man; don’t destroy his dwelling.

He killed on that day eighty-five men who wore the linen ephod.As for Nob, the city of the priests, he struck down with the sword men and women, children and infants, oxen, donkeys, and sheep– all with the sword.

If they say,“ Come with us! We will lie in wait to shed blood; we will ambush an innocent person capriciously.

Proud men hide a snare for me; evil men spread a net by the path; they set traps for me.( Selah)

They planned to arrest Jesus by stealth and kill him.
