Do not lurk like a thief near the house of the righteous, do not plunder their dwelling place;

Don’t hide and wait like a burglar near a godly person’s house. Don’t rob their home.

Lie not in wait as a wicked man against the dwelling of the righteous; do no violence to his home;

Don’t wait in ambush at the home of the godly, and don’t raid the house where the godly live.

Don’t set an ambush, you wicked one, at the camp of the righteous man; don’t destroy his dwelling.

Do not lie in ambush, you wicked person, against the home of the righteous; Do not destroy his resting place;

Do not lie in wait, O wicked man, against the dwelling of the righteous; Do not plunder his resting place;

Lay not wait, O wicked man, against the habitation of the righteous; Destroy not his resting- place:

Wicked man, don’t set an ambush, at the camp of the righteous man; don’t destroy his dwelling.

Do not lie in wait like the wicked against the place where the righteous live; do not assault his home.

The king then ordered Doeg,“ You turn and strike down the priests.” So Doeg the Edomite turned and struck them down. That day he killed eighty-five men who wore the linen ephod.He also put to the sword Nob, the town of the priests, with its men and women, its children and infants, and its cattle, donkeys and sheep. If they say,“ Come along with us; let’s lie in wait for innocent blood, let’s ambush some harmless soul; (niv)

The arrogant have hidden a snare for me; they have spread out the cords of their net and have set traps for me along my path. (niv)

and they schemed to arrest Jesus secretly and kill him. (niv)

They requested Festus, as a favor to them, to have Paul transferred to Jerusalem, for they were preparing an ambush to kill him along the way. (niv)

He lies in wait near the villages; from ambush he murders the innocent. His eyes watch in secret for his victims;like a lion in cover he lies in wait. He lies in wait to catch the helpless; he catches the helpless and drags them off in his net.His victims are crushed, they collapse; they fall under his strength. (niv)

As they were going up the hill to the town, they met some young women coming out to draw water, and they asked them,“ Is the seer here?” (niv)

They conspire, they lurk, they watch my steps, hoping to take my life. (niv)

Do not move an ancient boundary stone set up by your ancestors. (niv)

The wicked lie in wait for the righteous, intent on putting them to death; (niv)

but Saul learned of their plan. Day and night they kept close watch on the city gates in order to kill him. (niv)

My people will live in peaceful dwelling places, in secure homes, in undisturbed places of rest. (niv)

See how they lie in wait for me! Fierce men conspire against me for no offense or sin of mine, Lord. (niv)

But when the son of Paul’s sister heard of this plot, he went into the barracks and told Paul. (niv)

I had been like a gentle lamb led to the slaughter; I did not realize that they had plotted against me, saying,“ Let us destroy the tree and its fruit; let us cut him off from the land of the living, that his name be remembered no more.” (niv)
