守財奴的飯，你不要吃，也不要貪戀他的美味；

不要吃吝嗇人的飯，不可貪圖他的美味。

不可吃吝嗇人的飯，也不可貪戀他的美食。

不可喫小心眼兒人的飯；不可貪好他的美味；

你不要吃吝嗇人的餅，也不要貪戀他的美食；

勿食眈眈者之餅、勿貪其珍饈、

宴友而睚眦、勿與共食、貪其珍錯。

勿坐吝嗇人之席、勿貪其珍饈、

Do not eat the food of a begrudging host, do not crave his delicacies;

Don’t eat the food of anyone who doesn’t want to share it. Don’t long for his fancy food.

Do not eat the bread of a man who is stingy; do not desire his delicacies,

Don’t eat with people who are stingy; don’t desire their delicacies.

Don’t eat a stingy person’s bread, and don’t desire his choice food,

Do not eat the bread of a selfish person; Or desire his delicacies;

Eat thou not the bread of him that hath an evil eye, Neither desire thou his dainties:

Don’t eat a stingy person’s bread, and don’t desire his choice food,

Eat thou not the bread of[ him that hath] an evil eye, neither desire thou his dainty meats:

Do not eat the food of a stingy person, do not crave his delicacies;

Don’t eat the food of him who has a stingy eye, and don’t crave his delicacies:

Do not incline my heart to any evil thing, To practice wicked works With men who work iniquity; And do not let me eat of their delicacies.

Beware lest there be a wicked thought in your heart, saying,‘ The seventh year, the year of release, is at hand,’ and your eye be evil against your poor brother and you give him nothing, and he cry out to the Lord against you, and it become sin among you.

Do not desire his delicacies, For they are deceptive food.

But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s delicacies, nor with the wine which he drank; therefore he requested of the chief of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.Now God had brought Daniel into the favor and goodwill of the chief of the eunuchs.And the chief of the eunuchs said to Daniel,“ I fear my Lord the king, who has appointed your food and drink. For why should he see your faces looking worse than the young men who are your age? Then you would endanger my head before the king.”

He who has a generous eye will be blessed, For he gives of his bread to the poor.

Is it not lawful for me to do what I wish with my own things? Or is your eye evil because I am good?’

A man with an evil eye hastens after riches, And does not consider that poverty will come upon him.

The tender and delicate woman among you, who would not venture to set the sole of her foot on the ground because of her delicateness and sensitivity, will refuse to the husband of her bosom, and to her son and her daughter,

thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lewdness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness.
