不可喫小心眼兒人的飯；不可貪好他的美味；

你不要吃吝嗇人的餅，也不要貪戀他的美食；

勿食眈眈者之餅、勿貪其珍饈、

宴友而睚眦、勿與共食、貪其珍錯。

勿坐吝嗇人之席、勿貪其珍饈、

Don’t eat the food of anyone who doesn’t want to share it. Don’t long for his fancy food.

Do not eat the bread of a man who is stingy; do not desire his delicacies,

Don’t eat with people who are stingy; don’t desire their delicacies.

Don’t eat a stingy person’s bread, and don’t desire his choice food,

Eat thou not the bread of him that hath an evil eye, Neither desire thou his dainties:

Do not let my heart be drawn to what is evil so that I take part in wicked deeds along with those who are evildoers; do not let me eat their delicacies.

Be careful not to harbor this wicked thought:“ The seventh year, the year for canceling debts, is near,” so that you do not show ill will toward the needy among your fellow Israelites and give them nothing. They may then appeal to the Lord against you, and you will be found guilty of sin.

Do not crave his delicacies, for that food is deceptive.

But Daniel resolved not to defile himself with the royal food and wine, and he asked the chief official for permission not to defile himself this way.Now God had caused the official to show favor and compassion to Daniel,but the official told Daniel,“ I am afraid of my lord the king, who has assigned your food and drink. Why should he see you looking worse than the other young men your age? The king would then have my head because of you.”

The generous will themselves be blessed, for they share their food with the poor.

Don’t I have the right to do what I want with my own money? Or are you envious because I am generous?’

The stingy are eager to get rich and are unaware that poverty awaits them.

The most gentle and sensitive woman among you— so sensitive and gentle that she would not venture to touch the ground with the sole of her foot— will begrudge the husband she loves and her own son or daughter

adultery, greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance and folly.
