Therefore, anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God.Or do you think Scripture says without reason that he jealously longs for the spirit he has caused to dwell in us? The wicked desire the stronghold of evildoers, but the root of the righteous endures. (niv)

Good will come to those who are generous and lend freely, who conduct their affairs with justice. (niv)

They have freely scattered their gifts to the poor, their righteousness endures forever; their horn will be lifted high in honor. (niv)

You who practice deceit, your tongue plots destruction; it is like a sharpened razor.You love evil rather than good, falsehood rather than speaking the truth. (niv)
