Their actions are crooked, and their ways are wrong.

所行邪曲、所為橫逆。

其路偏僻、其徑邪曲、

But banish those who turn to crooked ways, O Lord. Take them away with those who do evil. May Israel have peace!

The guilty walk a crooked path; the innocent travel a straight road.

“ But they have acted corruptly toward him; when they act so perversely, are they really his children? They are a deceitful and twisted generation.

so that no one can criticize you. Live clean, innocent lives as children of God, shining like bright lights in a world full of crooked and perverse people.

They don’t know where to find peace or what it means to be just and good. They have mapped out crooked roads, and no one who follows them knows a moment’s peace.

Now go and write down these words. Write them in a book. They will stand until the end of time as a witnessthat these people are stubborn rebels who refuse to pay attention to the Lord’s instructions.They tell the seers,“ Stop seeing visions!” They tell the prophets,“ Don’t tell us what is right. Tell us nice things. Tell us lies.Forget all this gloom. Get off your narrow path. Stop telling us about your‘ Holy One of Israel.’”This is the reply of the Holy One of Israel:“ Because you despise what I tell you and trust instead in oppression and lies,calamity will come upon you suddenly— like a bulging wall that bursts and falls. In an instant it will collapse and come crashing down.
