These men turn from the right way to walk down dark paths.

若輩離乎正路、行於暗途、

彼離正道、行於幽暗、

彼離正直之道、欲行幽暗之路、

who have left the straight paths to walk in dark ways,

Men like that have left the straight paths to walk in dark ways.

who forsake the paths of uprightness to walk in the ways of darkness,

from those who abandon the right paths to walk in ways of darkness,

From those who leave the paths of uprightness To walk in the ways of darkness;

From those who leave the paths of uprightness To walk in the ways of darkness;

Who forsake the paths of uprightness, To walk in the ways of darkness;

from those who abandon the right paths to walk in ways of darkness,

Who leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness;

who leave the upright paths to walk on the dark ways,

who forsake the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness,

And the judgment is based on this fact: God’s light came into the world, but people loved the darkness more than the light, for their actions were evil.All who do evil hate the light and refuse to go near it for fear their sins will be exposed.

But the way of the wicked is like total darkness. They have no idea what they are stumbling over.

The person who strays from common sense will end up in the company of the dead.

And when people escape from the wickedness of the world by knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and then get tangled up and enslaved by sin again, they are worse off than before.It would be better if they had never known the way to righteousness than to know it and then reject the command they were given to live a holy life.They prove the truth of this proverb:“ A dog returns to its vomit.” And another says,“ A washed pig returns to the mud.”

“ Wicked people rebel against the light. They refuse to acknowledge its ways or stay in its paths.The murderer rises in the early dawn to kill the poor and needy; at night he is a thief.The adulterer waits for the twilight, saying,‘ No one will see me then.’ He hides his face so no one will know him.Thieves break into houses at night and sleep in the daytime. They are not acquainted with the light.

God sent a man, John the Baptist,

Yes, they knew God, but they wouldn’t worship him as God or even give him thanks. And they began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like. As a result, their minds became dark and confused.

For it is impossible to bring back to repentance those who were once enlightened— those who have experienced the good things of heaven and shared in the Holy Spirit,who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the power of the age to come—and who then turn away from God. It is impossible to bring such people back to repentance; by rejecting the Son of God, they themselves are nailing him to the cross once again and holding him up to public shame.

“ When an evil spirit leaves a person, it goes into the desert, seeking rest but finding none.Then it says,‘ I will return to the person I came from.’ So it returns and finds its former home empty, swept, and in order.Then the spirit finds seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they all enter the person and live there. And so that person is worse off than before. That will be the experience of this evil generation.”

When the master of ceremonies tasted the water that was now wine, not knowing where it had come from( though, of course, the servants knew), he called the bridegroom over.“ A host always serves the best wine first,” he said.“ Then, when everyone has had a lot to drink, he brings out the less expensive wine. But you have kept the best until now!”This miraculous sign at Cana in Galilee was the first time Jesus revealed his glory. And his disciples believed in him.

But no, all have turned away; all have become corrupt. No one does good, not a single one!

But these oppressors know nothing; they are so ignorant! They wander about in darkness, while the whole world is shaken to the core.

“ Son of man, give your people this message: The righteous behavior of righteous people will not save them if they turn to sin, nor will the wicked behavior of wicked people destroy them if they repent and turn from their sins.When I tell righteous people that they will live, but then they sin, expecting their past righteousness to save them, then none of their righteous acts will be remembered. I will destroy them for their sins.

Everything they say is crooked and deceitful. They refuse to act wisely or do good.

When righteous people turn from their righteous behavior and start doing sinful things, they will die for it. Yes, they will die because of their sinful deeds.

Jesus replied,“ My light will shine for you just a little longer. Walk in the light while you can, so the darkness will not overtake you. Those who walk in the darkness cannot see where they are going.

And I will destroy those who used to worship me but now no longer do. They no longer ask for the Lord’s guidance or seek my blessings.”

For you are all children of the light and of the day; we don’t belong to darkness and night.So be on your guard, not asleep like the others. Stay alert and be clearheaded.Night is the time when people sleep and drinkers get drunk.
