Wisdom will save you from the ways of wicked men, from men whose words are perverse,

delivering you from the way of evil, from men of perverted speech,

Wisdom will save you from evil people, from those whose words are twisted.

It will rescue you from the way of evil— from anyone who says perverse things,

To rescue you from the way of evil, From a person who speaks perverse things;

To deliver you from the way of evil, From the man who speaks perverse things,

To deliver thee from the way of evil, From the men that speak perverse things;

rescuing you from the way of evil— from the one who says perverse things,

To deliver thee from the way of the evil[ man], from the man that speaketh froward things;

to deliver you from the way of the wicked, from those speaking perversity,

to deliver you from the way of evil, from the men who speak perverse things,

Don’t let anyone fool you.“ Bad companions make a good person bad.”

To have respect for the Lord is to hate evil. I hate pride and bragging. I hate evil ways and twisted words.

So,“ Come out from among them and be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch anything that is not pure and‘ clean.’ Then I will receive you.”( Isaiah 52:11; Ezekiel 20:34, 41)

Walk with wise people and become wise. A companion of foolish people suffers harm.

I don’t spend time with people who tell lies. I don’t keep company with pretenders.I hate to be with a group of sinful people. I refuse to spend time with those who are evil.

Though evil people tried to pay me to do wrong, I have not done what they wanted. Instead I have done what you commanded.My steps have stayed on your paths. My feet have not slipped.

A twisted person stirs up conflict. Anyone who talks about others separates close friends.A person who wants to hurt others tries to get them to sin. That person leads them down a path that isn’t good.Whoever winks with their eye is planning to do wrong. Whoever closes their lips tightly is up to no good.

Don’t take the path of evil people. Don’t live the way sinners do.Stay away from their path and don’t travel on it. Turn away from it and go on your way.Sinners can’t rest until they do what is evil. They can’t sleep until they make someone sin.They do evil just as easily as they eat food. They hurt others as easily as they drink wine.

The Lord really hates sinful people. But he makes honest people his closest friends.

Even men from your own people will rise up and twist the truth. They want to get the believers to follow them.

Your hands and fingers are stained with blood. You are guilty of committing murder. Your mouth has told lies. Your tongue says evil things.People aren’t fair when they present cases in court. They aren’t honest when they state their case. They depend on weak arguments. They tell lies. They plan to make trouble. Then they carry it out.The plans they make are like the eggs of poisonous snakes. Anyone who eats those eggs will die. When one of them is broken, a snake comes out.

Leave your childish ways and you will live. Walk in the way of understanding.”

I will stay away from those whose hearts are twisted. I won’t have anything to do with what is evil.

Don’t let my heart be drawn to what is evil. Don’t let me join with people who do evil. Don’t let me eat their fancy food.

My son, if sinful men tempt you, don’t give in to them.They might say,“ Come along with us. Let’s hide and wait to kill someone who hasn’t done anything wrong. Let’s catch some harmless person in our trap.Let’s swallow them alive, as the grave does. Let’s swallow them whole, like those who go down into the pit.We’ll get all kinds of valuable things. We’ll fill our houses with what we steal.Cast lots with us for what they own. We’ll share everything we take from them.”My son, don’t go along with them. Don’t even set your feet on their paths.They are always in a hurry to sin. They are quick to spill someone’s blood.How useless it is to spread a net where every bird can see it!Those who hide and wait will spill their own blood. They will be caught in their own trap.That’s what happens to everyone who goes after money in the wrong way. That kind of money takes away the life of those who get it.
