In mercy and truth Atonement is provided for iniquity; And by the fear of the Lord one departs from evil.

罪愆以矜憫誠實得赦、敬畏主則可避惡、

Through love and faithfulness sin is atoned for; through the fear of the Lord evil is avoided.

Through love and truth sin is paid for. People avoid evil when they have respect for the Lord.

By steadfast love and faithfulness iniquity is atoned for, and by the fear of the Lord one turns away from evil.

Unfailing love and faithfulness make atonement for sin. By fearing the Lord, people avoid evil.

Iniquity is atoned for by loyalty and faithfulness, and one turns from evil by the fear of the LORD.

By mercy and truth atonement is made for wrongdoing, And by the fear of the Lord one keeps away from evil.

By mercy and truth iniquity is atoned for; And by the fear of Jehovah men depart from evil.

Wickedness is atoned for by loyalty and faithfulness, and one turns from evil by the fear of the Lord.

By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the LORD[ men] depart from evil.

Through loyal love and truth iniquity is appeased; through fearing the LORD one avoids evil.

By mercy and truth iniquity is atoned for. By the fear of Yahweh men depart from evil.

A wise man fears and departs from evil, But a fool rages and is self-confident.

Therefore, O king, let my advice be acceptable to you; break off your sins by being righteous, and your iniquities by showing mercy to the poor. Perhaps there may be a lengthening of your prosperity.”

Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

But rather give alms of such things as you have; then indeed all things are clean to you.

And to man He said,‘ Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom, And to depart from evil is understanding.’”

The fear of the Lord is to hate evil; Pride and arrogance and the evil way And the perverse mouth I hate.

Mercy and truth preserve the king, And by lovingkindness he upholds his throne.

and made no distinction between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.

Who is a God like You, Pardoning iniquity And passing over the transgression of the remnant of His heritage? He does not retain His anger forever, Because He delights in mercy.He will again have compassion on us, And will subdue our iniquities. You will cast all our sins Into the depths of the sea.You will give truth to Jacob And mercy to Abraham, Which You have sworn to our fathers From days of old.

submitting to one another in the fear of God.

Mercy and truth have met together; Righteousness and peace have kissed.

Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit.

Since you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit in sincere love of the brethren, love one another fervently with a pure heart,

There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was blameless and upright, and one who feared God and shunned evil.And seven sons and three daughters were born to him.Also, his possessions were seven thousand sheep, three thousand camels, five hundred yoke of oxen, five hundred female donkeys, and a very large household, so that this man was the greatest of all the people of the East.And his sons would go and feast in their houses, each on his appointed day, and would send and invite their three sisters to eat and drink with them.So it was, when the days of feasting had run their course, that Job would send and sanctify them, and he would rise early in the morning and offer burnt offerings according to the number of them all. For Job said,“ It may be that my sons have sinned and cursed God in their hearts.” Thus Job did regularly.Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came among them.And the Lord said to Satan,“ From where do you come?” So Satan answered the Lord and said,“ From going to and fro on the earth, and from walking back and forth on it.”Then the Lord said to Satan,“ Have you considered My servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, one who fears God and shuns evil?”

The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, To turn one away from the snares of death.

And Abraham said,“ Because I thought, surely the fear of God is not in this place; and they will kill me on account of my wife.

But the former governors who were before me laid burdens on the people, and took from them bread and wine, besides forty shekels of silver. Yes, even their servants bore rule over the people, but I did not do so, because of the fear of God.

Then I said,“ What you are doing is not good. Should you not walk in the fear of our God because of the reproach of the nations, our enemies?
