Saul also sent messengers to David’s house to watch him and to kill him in the morning. And Michal, David’s wife, told him, saying,“ If you do not save your life tonight, tomorrow you will be killed.”

My son, if sinners entice you, Do not consent.If they say,“ Come with us, Let us lie in wait to shed blood; Let us lurk secretly for the innocent without cause;Let us swallow them alive like Sheol, And whole, like those who go down to the Pit;We shall find all kinds of precious possessions, We shall fill our houses with spoil;Cast in your lot among us, Let us all have one purse”—

then Saul said to his servants who stood about him,“ Hear now, you Benjamites! Will the son of Jesse give every one of you fields and vineyards, and make you all captains of thousands and captains of hundreds?All of you have conspired against me, and there is no one who reveals to me that my son has made a covenant with the son of Jesse; and there is not one of you who is sorry for me or reveals to me that my son has stirred up my servant against me, to lie in wait, as it is this day.”Then answered Doeg the Edomite, who was set over the servants of Saul, and said,“ I saw the son of Jesse going to Nob, to Ahimelech the son of Ahitub.

You therefore, beloved, since you know this beforehand, beware lest you also fall from your own steadfastness, being led away with the error of the wicked;
