A mocker seeks wisdom and doesn’t find it, but knowledge comes easily to the perceptive.

亵慢人寻智慧，却寻不着；聪明人易得知识。

傲慢人枉寻智慧；聪明人易得知识。

嘲讽者徒然寻智慧，明哲人轻易得知识。

好讥笑人的寻找智慧，却寻不着；聪明人寻找知识，却轻易得着。

讥讽者寻求智慧却得不到；有悟性的人轻易得知识。

褻慢人尋智慧，卻尋不着；聰明人易得知識。

The mocker seeks wisdom and finds none, but knowledge comes easily to the discerning.

Those who make fun of others look for wisdom and don’t find it. But knowledge comes easily to those who understand what is right.

A scoffer seeks wisdom in vain, but knowledge is easy for a man of understanding.

A scoffer seeks wisdom and does not find it, But knowledge is easy to him who understands.

A scoffer seeketh wisdom, and findeth it not; But knowledge is easy unto him that hath understanding.

He answered,“ Because the secrets of the kingdom of heaven have been given for you to know, but it has not been given to them.For whoever has, more will be given to him, and he will have more than enough; but whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him.

Now if any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God— who gives to all generously and ungrudgingly— and it will be given to him.

Wisdom is the focus of the perceptive, but a fool’s eyes roam to the ends of the earth.

At that time Jesus said,“ I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and intelligent and revealed them to infants.Yes, Father, because this was your good pleasure.All things have been entrusted to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son desires to reveal him.

All of them are clear to the perceptive, and right to those who discover knowledge.

Above all, be aware of this: Scoffers will come in the last days scoffing and following their own evil desires,saying,“ Where is his‘ coming’ that he promised? Ever since our ancestors fell asleep, all things continue as they have been since the beginning of creation.”They deliberately overlook this: By the word of God the heavens came into being long ago and the earth was brought about from water and through water.

Let no one deceive himself. If anyone among you thinks he is wise in this age, let him become a fool so that he can become wise.For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God, since it is written, He catches the wise in their craftiness;

The wise will be put to shame; they will be dismayed and snared. They have rejected the word of the LORD, so what wisdom do they really have?

Open my eyes so that I may contemplate wondrous things from your instruction.

A fool does not delight in understanding, but only wants to show off his opinions.

Your command makes me wiser than my enemies, for it is always with me.I have more insight than all my teachers because your decrees are my meditation.I understand more than the elders because I obey your precepts.

“ The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eye is healthy, your whole body will be full of light.But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. So if the light within you is darkness, how deep is that darkness!

For though they knew God, they did not glorify him as God or show gratitude. Instead, their thinking became worthless, and their senseless hearts were darkened.Claiming to be wise, they became foolsand exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man, birds, four-footed animals, and reptiles.Therefore God delivered them over in the desires of their hearts to sexual impurity, so that their bodies were degraded among themselves.They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served what has been created instead of the Creator, who is praised forever. Amen.For this reason God delivered them over to disgraceful passions. Their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones.The men in the same way also left natural relations with women and were inflamed in their lust for one another. Men committed shameless acts with men and received in their own persons the appropriate penalty of their error.And because they did not think it worthwhile to acknowledge God, God delivered them over to a corrupt mind so that they do what is not right.

If anyone thinks he knows anything, he does not yet know it as he ought to know it.

But Israel, pursuing the law of righteousness, has not achieved the righteousness of the law.Why is that? Because they did not pursue it by faith, but as if it were by works. They stumbled over the stumbling stone.

Do you see a person who is wise in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for him.

Go to God’s instruction and testimony! If they do not speak according to this word, there will be no dawn for them.
