A king delights in a wise servant, but a shameful servant arouses his fury.

A king is pleased with a wise servant. But a servant who is full of shame stirs up the king’s anger.

A servant who deals wisely has the king’s favor, but his wrath falls on one who acts shamefully.

A king rejoices in wise servants but is angry with those who disgrace him.

A king favors a prudent servant, but his anger falls on a disgraceful one.

The king’s favor is toward a servant who acts wisely, But his anger is toward him who acts shamefully.

孰是忠智之僕、主任之督其家人、依時而予糧乎、主臨、見僕行事、其僕福矣、我誠告爾、主將任之、以督所有、倘有惡僕、意主將遲遲而至、於是扑其同僕、與酒徒飲食、乃於不意之日、不知之時、主至、加以極刑、置與偽善同科、在彼有哀哭切齒者矣、

清其心、善其詞、王必眷祐。

爰有王公、其震怒也、若獅之咆哮、其施恩也、如露之潤澤。子不肖、憂親心、妻不賢、等屋漏。

主曰、孰是忠智家宰、主任之督其家人、依時與糧、主臨時見僕行是、其僕福矣、我誠告爾、主將任之以督所有、倘其僕、意主將遲遲而至、遂扑僕婢、食飲且醉、乃於不意之日、不知之時、主至、加以極刑、置與不信者同科、僕知主意、而不設備、不順其意者、見扑必多、不知而作當刑之事者、見扑必少、凡多與之、必多取之、多托之、必多索之、○

君聽虛妄、臣下化之。

王擯惡人、國位以立。

主曰、俞、僕之忠而善者、爾於寡者既忠矣、我將以多者任爾、可進爾主之宴樂也、

及夏而斂者可為智、當秋而寢者人所羞。

子不肖而家宰賢、督率諸子、分其遺業。

欺父逐母、貽羞孰甚。

賢王驅逐惡人、加以蹂躪、

主曰、俞、僕之忠而善者、爾於寡者既忠矣、我將以多者任爾、可進爾主之宴樂也、

擯斥忤逆、杜絕匪類兮、誹謗之流、余必棄之、矜高之輩、余不容之兮、忠愨之士、予所眷顧、使偕我居兮、正直之人、余將使之供役事兮、詭詐者擯勿與處、虛誑者勿在余前兮、作惡者早加翦滅、毋俾在耶和華邑兮。

王坐鞫民、見惡人則擯斥之。
