A king delights in a wise servant, but a shameful servant arouses his fury.

智慧的臣子蒙王恩惠；贻羞的仆人遭其震怒。

A king is pleased with a wise servant. But a servant who is full of shame stirs up the king’s anger.

A servant who deals wisely has the king’s favor, but his wrath falls on one who acts shamefully.

A king rejoices in wise servants but is angry with those who disgrace him.

A king favors a prudent servant, but his anger falls on a disgraceful one.

The king’s favor is toward a servant who acts wisely, But his anger is toward him who acts shamefully.

The king’s favor is toward a wise servant, But his wrath is against him who causes shame.

The king’s favor is toward a servant that dealeth wisely; But his wrath will be against him that causeth shame.

“ Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom the master has put in charge of the servants in his household to give them their food at the proper time?It will be good for that servant whose master finds him doing so when he returns.Truly I tell you, he will put him in charge of all his possessions.But suppose that servant is wicked and says to himself,‘ My master is staying away a long time,’and he then begins to beat his fellow servants and to eat and drink with drunkards.The master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he is not aware of.He will cut him to pieces and assign him a place with the hypocrites, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

One who loves a pure heart and who speaks with grace will have the king for a friend.

A king’s rage is like the roar of a lion, but his favor is like dew on the grass.A foolish child is a father’s ruin, and a quarrelsome wife is like the constant dripping of a leaky roof.

The Lord answered,“ Who then is the faithful and wise manager, whom the master puts in charge of his servants to give them their food allowance at the proper time?It will be good for that servant whom the master finds doing so when he returns.Truly I tell you, he will put him in charge of all his possessions.But suppose the servant says to himself,‘ My master is taking a long time in coming,’ and he then begins to beat the other servants, both men and women, and to eat and drink and get drunk.The master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he is not aware of. He will cut him to pieces and assign him a place with the unbelievers.“ The servant who knows the master’s will and does not get ready or does not do what the master wants will be beaten with many blows.But the one who does not know and does things deserving punishment will be beaten with few blows. From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.

If a ruler listens to lies, all his officials become wicked.

remove wicked officials from the king’s presence, and his throne will be established through righteousness.

“ His master replied,‘ Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’

He who gathers crops in summer is a prudent son, but he who sleeps during harvest is a disgraceful son.

A prudent servant will rule over a disgraceful son and will share the inheritance as one of the family.

Whoever robs their father and drives out their mother is a child who brings shame and disgrace.

A wise king winnows out the wicked; he drives the threshing wheel over them.

“ His master replied,‘ Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’

The perverse of heart shall be far from me; I will have nothing to do with what is evil.Whoever slanders their neighbor in secret, I will put to silence; whoever has haughty eyes and a proud heart, I will not tolerate.My eyes will be on the faithful in the land, that they may dwell with me; the one whose walk is blameless will minister to me.No one who practices deceit will dwell in my house; no one who speaks falsely will stand in my presence.Every morning I will put to silence all the wicked in the land; I will cut off every evildoer from the city of the Lord.

When a king sits on his throne to judge, he winnows out all evil with his eyes.
