Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm.

Walk with the wise and become wise; associate with fools and get in trouble.

The one who walks with the wise will become wise, but a companion of fools will suffer harm.

He who walks with wise men will be wise, But the companion of fools will be destroyed.

Walk with wise men, and thou shalt be wise; But the companion of fools shall smart for it.

Leave your simple ways, and live, and walk in the way of insight.”

The ear that listens to life-giving reproof will dwell among the wise.

Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?What accord has Christ with Belial? Or what portion does a believer share with an unbeliever?What agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; as God said,“ I will make my dwelling among them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.Therefore go out from their midst, and be separate from them, says the Lord, and touch no unclean thing; then I will welcome you,and I will be a father to you, and you shall be sons and daughters to me, says the Lord Almighty.”

Then I heard another voice from heaven saying,“ Come out of her, my people, lest you take part in her sins, lest you share in her plagues;

I am a companion of all who fear you, of those who keep your precepts.

If they say,“ Come with us, let us lie in wait for blood; let us ambush the innocent without reason;like Sheol let us swallow them alive, and whole, like those who go down to the pit;we shall find all precious goods, we shall fill our houses with plunder;throw in your lot among us; we will all have one purse”—my son, do not walk in the way with them; hold back your foot from their paths,for their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed blood.For in vain is a net spread in the sight of any bird,but these men lie in wait for their own blood; they set an ambush for their own lives.Such are the ways of everyone who is greedy for unjust gain; it takes away the life of its possessors.

And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works,

Then those who feared the Lord spoke with one another. The Lord paid attention and heard them, and a book of remembrance was written before him of those who feared the Lord and esteemed his name.

Her house is the way to Sheol, going down to the chambers of death.

All at once he follows her, as an ox goes to the slaughter, or as a stag is caught fasttill an arrow pierces its liver; as a bird rushes into a snare; he does not know that it will cost him his life.

delivering you from the way of evil, from men of perverted speech,who forsake the paths of uprightness to walk in the ways of darkness,who rejoice in doing evil and delight in the perverseness of evil,men whose paths are crooked, and who are devious in their ways.So you will be delivered from the forbidden woman, from the adulteress with her smooth words,who forsakes the companion of her youth and forgets the covenant of her God;for her house sinks down to death, and her paths to the departed;none who go to her come back, nor do they regain the paths of life.So you will walk in the way of the good and keep to the paths of the righteous.

Abram settled in the land of Canaan, while Lot settled among the cities of the valley and moved his tent as far as Sodom.Now the men of Sodom were wicked, great sinners against the Lord.

And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.

And the young men who had grown up with him said to him,“ Thus shall you speak to this people who said to you,‘ Your father made our yoke heavy, but you lighten it for us,’ thus shall you say to them,‘ My little finger is thicker than my father’s thighs.

But he abandoned the counsel that the old men gave him and took counsel with the young men who had grown up with him and stood before him.

They also took Lot, the son of Abram’s brother, who was dwelling in Sodom, and his possessions, and went their way.

And he said to Jehoshaphat,“ Will you go with me to battle at Ramoth-gilead?” And Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel,“ I am as you are, my people as your people, my horses as your horses.”

But Jehu the son of Hanani the seer went out to meet him and said to King Jehoshaphat,“ Should you help the wicked and love those who hate the Lord? Because of this, wrath has gone out against you from the Lord.

Tell me, you whom my soul loves, where you pasture your flock, where you make it lie down at noon; for why should I be like one who veils herself beside the flocks of your companions?If you do not know, O most beautiful among women, follow in the tracks of the flock, and pasture your young goats beside the shepherds’ tents.

And when the captains of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat, they said,“ It is surely the king of Israel.” So they turned to fight against him. And Jehoshaphat cried out.
