有施舍的，钱财增添；吝惜过度，反致穷乏。

One person gives freely, yet gains even more; another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty.

One person gives freely but gets even richer. Another person doesn’t give what they should but gets even poorer.

One gives freely, yet grows all the richer; another withholds what he should give, and only suffers want.

Give freely and become more wealthy; be stingy and lose everything.

矜恤貧人、如貸金於耶和華、所給者必償。

彼散財兮、彼濟貧兮、其義永存、其角崢嶸兮、

予人則予爾、將以大量、搖撼使實、充滿溢外、納爾懷中、蓋爾量度若何、則見度亦如是、○

惡者勤勞、未必有功、義者播種、必有所獲。

是時人至麥堆、望得二十束、惟得十束、人至酒醡、望得五十斗、惟得二十斗、耶和華曰、爾雖勤勞、我使風暴五穀、細弱特甚、雨雹以毀傷之、爾猶不歸誠於我、自九月二十四日、築我耶和華殿基、以後所有之事、即當思之、倉廩之中雖無五穀、葡萄樹、無花果、石榴、橄欖、雖未結果、自是以後、我將錫爾以純嘏。

故吾以為當請兄弟先至爾處、將前所言之金、預備以待、以明樂助、非出勉強、余嘗曰、少稼少穡、多稼多穡、各隨其願、毋憂慮、毋勉強、上帝所愛者、樂助也。上帝能加恩與爾、令爾恆足、萬善備於己、經云彼散財矣、彼濟貧矣、義乃永存、主固加種與播者、賜糧與食者、今願以所播之種、加多與爾、為義之效、增益助爾、令爾得以博施、我聚而散之、俾受之者謝上帝、

爾當予之、賙給之時、心無不悅、蓋為此故、爾之上帝耶和華、必於凡所為錫嘏於爾。

爾勿以朝吉而播、夕凶而弗播、朝夕俱可、不知其後孰美也。

爾播多穫少、食不果腹、飲不止渴、衣不得暖、工得其金、盛於敝囊。

滙水之區、宜播百穀、歷日既久、可刈可穫。頒食於眾、勿以七八為限、蓋爾後日貧乏、難以自料。

昔爾慕多得少、攜物至家、我吹之飄沒者、誠何故耶、因爾各顧其廬、而我殿宇傾圮、毫不介意、萬有之主耶和華已言之矣。是以天不降甘露、地不產庶物、我使平原山岡、不沾膏澤、五穀酒油、及大地之所播而生、人畜之所勞而得者、俱必匱乏、

貸人以金、重權子母、以益其財者、所積之金、必為濟貧之人所得。

於是、門徒立意、各量其所餘、移以濟在猶太之兄弟、藉巴拿巴掃羅齋其貲至長老焉、
