He shall dwell on high; his place of defence shall be the munitions of rocks; his bread shall be given him; his waters shall be sure.

But if God doth so clothe the grass of the field, which to- day is, and to- morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?Be not therefore anxious, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?For after all these things do the Gentiles seek; for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.But seek ye first his kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

To deliver their soul from death, And to keep them alive in famine.

In famine he will redeem thee from death; And in war from the power of the sword.

They shall not be put to shame in the time of evil; And in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.

The wicked shall see it, and be grieved; He shall gnash with his teeth, and melt away: The desire of the wicked shall perish.

Because he knew no quietness within him, He shall not save aught of that wherein he delighteth.There was nothing left that he devoured not; Therefore his prosperity shall not endure.In the fulness of his sufficiency he shall be in straits: The hand of every one that is in misery shall come upon him.

Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them in the day of Jehovah’s wrath; but the whole land shall be devoured by the fire of his jealousy: for he will make an end, yea, a terrible end, of all them that dwell in the land.

Thou hast seen it; for thou beholdest mischief and spite, to requite it with thy hand: The helpless committeth himself unto thee; Thou hast been the helper of the fatherless.

The increase of his house shall depart; His goods shall flow away in the day of his wrath.

And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Be not anxious for your life, what ye shall eat; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on.For the life is more than the food, and the body than the raiment.Consider the ravens, that they sow not, neither reap; which have no store- chamber nor barn; and God feedeth them: of how much more value are ye than the birds!

Shall not all these take up a parable against him, and a taunting proverb against him, and say, Woe to him that increaseth that which is not his! how long? and that ladeth himself with pledges!Shall they not rise up suddenly that shall bite thee, and awake that shall vex thee, and thou shalt be for booty unto them?Because thou hast plundered many nations, all the remnant of the peoples shall plunder thee, because of men’s blood, and for the violence done to the land, to the city and to all that dwell therein.

The wicked is thrust down in his evil- doing; But the righteous hath a refuge in his death.

Yet seek ye his kingdom, and these things shall be added unto you.

That the triumphing of the wicked is short, And the joy of the godless but for a moment?Though his height mount up to the heavens, And his head reach unto the clouds;Yet he shall perish for ever like his own dung: They that have seen him shall say, Where is he?He shall fly away as a dream, and shall not be found: Yea, he shall be chased away as a vision of the night.

Be ye free from the love of money; content with such things as ye have: for himself hath said, I will in no wise fail thee, neither will I in any wise forsake thee.So that with good courage we say, The Lord is my helper; I will not fear: What shall man do unto me?

Trust in Jehovah, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on his faithfulness.
