How often are they like straw before the wind, and like chaff swept away by a whirlwind?

The wicked are overthrown and perish, but the righteous household will stand.

He goes to bed wealthy, but will do so no more. When he opens his eyes, it is all gone.Terrors overwhelm him like a flood; at night a whirlwind carries him off.The east wind carries him away, and he is gone; it sweeps him out of his place.

because you have been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the cornerstone.

In this way they will save up a treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the future and so lay hold of what is truly life.
