使智者聽了長學問，明哲聽了得指引；

智慧人聽了，可以增長心得；明達人聽了，可以獲得技能，

讓智慧人聽了，就增添學問，讓有悟性的人得到指引，

智者聞之增其學、達者聞之正其趨、

哲者聞此而增其學、明者聞此而益其慧。

哲者聞之、增益學問、明者聞之、開廣智謀、

let the wise listen and add to their learning, and let the discerning get guidance—

Let wise people listen and add to what they have learned. Let those who understand what is right get guidance.

Let the wise listen to these proverbs and become even wiser. Let those with understanding receive guidance

As he was talking with him, the king said to him,“ Have we appointed you to be a royal counselor? Stop! Why should you be put to death?” Then the prophet stopped and said,“ I know that God has planned to destroy you, because you have done this and have not listened to my counsel.”

Then David said to Abigail,“ Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, who sent you this day to meet me,and blessed be your discernment, and blessed be you, who have kept me this day from bloodshed and from avenging myself by my own hand.
