Moreover, as you Philippians know, in the early days of your acquaintance with the gospel, when I set out from Macedonia, not one church shared with me in the matter of giving and receiving, except you only;

And you believers at Philippi know what happened when I left Macedonia. Not one church helped me in the matter of giving and receiving. You were the only one that did. That was in the early days when you first heard the good news.

And you Philippians yourselves know that in the beginning of the gospel, when I left Macedonia, no church entered into partnership with me in giving and receiving, except you only.

As you know, you Philippians were the only ones who gave me financial help when I first brought you the Good News and then traveled on from Macedonia. No other church did this.

And you Philippians know that in the early days of the gospel, when I left Macedonia, no church shared with me in the matter of giving and receiving except you alone.

You yourselves also know, Philippians, that at the first preaching of the gospel, after I left Macedonia, no church shared with me in the matter of giving and receiving except you alone;

Now you Philippians know also that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church shared with me concerning giving and receiving but you only.

因為從第一天直到如今，你們都同心合意興旺福音。

我剝奪了別的教會，向他們取了報酬來效勞你們。我在你們那裏有缺乏的時候，並沒有連累你們一個人，因為我所缺乏的，那些從馬其頓來的弟兄都補足了。我向來凡事謹慎，將來也必謹慎，總不要連累你們。既有基督的真誠在我裏面，在亞該亞一帶地方就沒有人能阻止我這樣自誇。為甚麼呢？是因我不愛你們嗎？上帝知道，我愛你們！我現在所做的，將來還要做，為要斷絕那些尋機會之人的機會，不讓他們在所誇耀的事上被人認為與我們一樣。

我成了愚蠢人，是被你們逼出來的，因為我本該被你們讚許才是。雖然我算不了甚麼，卻沒有一件事在那些超級使徒以下。我在你們中間，用百般的忍耐，藉着神蹟、奇事、異能顯出使徒的憑據來。除了我不曾連累你們這一件事，你們還有甚麼事不及別的教會呢？這不公平之處，請你們饒恕我吧。如今，我準備第三次到你們那裏去。我仍不會連累你們，因為我所求的是你們，不是你們的財物。兒女不該為父母積財，父母該為兒女積財。我也甘心樂意為你們的靈魂費財費力。難道我越愛你們，就越少得你們的愛嗎？

二人出了監牢，往呂底亞家裏去，見了弟兄們，勸慰他們一番，就離開了。保羅和西拉經過暗妃坡里、亞波羅尼亞，來到帖撒羅尼迦，在那裏有猶太人的會堂。保羅照他素常的規矩進去，一連三個安息日，根據聖經與他們辯論，講解和說明基督必須受害，從死人中復活；又說：「我所傳給你們的這位耶穌就是基督。」他們中間有些人聽了勸，就跟從保羅和西拉，還有許多虔敬的希臘人，尊貴的婦女也不少。但不信的猶太人心裏嫉妒，聚集了些市井流氓，搭夥成羣，煽動全城的人闖進耶孫的家，要把保羅和西拉帶到民眾那裏。

神人以利沙的僕人基哈西說：「看哪，我主人不願從這亞蘭人乃縵手裏接受他帶來的禮物，我指着永生的耶和華起誓，我必跑去追上他，向他拿些東西。」

以利沙說：「我指着所事奉永生的耶和華起誓，我必不接受。」乃縵再三請他收下，他卻不肯。
