行見爾之信德、發為妙果、令人景仰、而翕然歸依基督。

I pray that your partnership with us in the faith may be effective in deepening your understanding of every good thing we share for the sake of Christ.

我所禱告的就是：要你們的愛心，在知識和各樣見識上，不斷增長，使你們能分辨是非，在基督的日子作真誠無可指責的人，更靠着耶穌基督結滿仁義的果子，歸榮耀稱讚給上帝。

你們有了這幾樣，再繼續增長，就必使你們在認識我們的主耶穌基督上，不至於懶散和不結果子了。

因此，我們自從聽見的日子就不住地為你們禱告和祈求，願你們滿有一切屬靈的智慧和悟性，真正知道上帝的旨意，

就是為你們這些藉着信、蒙上帝大能保守的人，能獲得他所預備、到末世要顯現的救恩。雖然你們必須在百般試煉中暫時憂愁，你們要為此喜樂，使你們的信心既被考驗，就比那被火試煉仍然能壞的金子更顯寶貴，可以在耶穌基督顯現的時候得着稱讚、榮耀、尊貴。雖然你們沒有見過他，卻是愛他；如今雖看不見，你們卻因信他而有說不出來、滿有榮光的喜樂，

你們的光也要這樣照在人前，叫他們看見你們的好行為，把榮耀歸給你們在天上的父。」

我的弟兄們，若有人說自己有信心，卻沒有行為，有甚麼益處呢？這信心能救他嗎？

你們在外邦人中要品行端正，好讓那些人，雖然毀謗你們是作惡的，會因看見你們的好行為而在鑒察的日子歸榮耀給上帝。

我們的人也該學習行善，幫助有迫切需要的人，這樣才不會不結果子。

他心裏的隱情被顯露出來，就必將臉伏地，敬拜上帝，宣告說：「上帝真的是在你們中間了。」

信心也是這樣，若沒有行為是死的。

因為辦這供給的事，不但補聖徒的缺乏，而且使許多人對上帝充滿更多的感謝。他們從這供給的事上得了憑據，知道你們宣認基督，順服他的福音，慷慨捐助給他們和眾人，把榮耀歸給上帝。他們也因上帝極大的恩賜顯在你們身上而切切想念你們，為你們祈禱。

末了，弟兄們，凡是真實的、凡是可敬的、凡是公義的、凡是清潔的、凡是可愛的、凡是有美名的，若有甚麼德行，若有甚麼稱讚，你們都要留意。

因為上帝並非不公義，竟忘記你們的工作和你們為他的名所顯的愛心，就是你們過去和現在伺候聖徒的愛心。

同樣，你們作妻子的，要順服自己的丈夫，這樣，即使有不信從道理的丈夫，也會因妻子的品行，並非言語，而感化過來，

不過，要以溫柔、敬畏的心回答。要存無虧的良心，使你們在何事上被毀謗，就在何事上使那些凌辱你們在基督裏有好品行的人自覺羞愧。
