“ Won’t I in that day”, says Yahweh,“ destroy the wise men out of Edom, and understanding out of the mountain of Esau?

耶和华说：到那日，我岂不从以东除灭智慧人？从以扫山除灭聪明人？

到那日，我岂不从以东除灭智慧人？从以扫山除灭聪明人？这是耶和华说的。

耶和华说：“到那天，我要毁灭以东的智者，除掉以扫山上的明哲。

耶和华宣告说：到那日，我岂不从以东灭绝智慧人吗？岂不从以扫山除掉聪明人吗？

耶和華說：到那日，我豈不從以東除滅智慧人？從以掃山除滅聰明人？

到那日，我豈不從以東除滅智慧人？從以掃山除滅聰明人？這是耶和華說的。

耶和華說：「到那天，我要毀滅以東的智者，除掉以掃山上的明哲。

耶和華宣告說：到那日，我豈不從以東滅絕智慧人嗎？豈不從以掃山除掉聰明人嗎？

永恆主發神諭說：當那日、我哪有不從以東殺滅掉智慧人，從以掃山掃除了聰明呢？

耶和華曰、是日、我豈不滅以東之智者、絕以掃山之哲人乎、

耶和華曰、當斯時也、我必在以東、其邦賢人、殲之殆盡、以掃族中、必無哲士、

主曰、當是日我必自以東地、殲有智者、自以掃山、滅明哲人、

“ In that day,” declares the Lord,“ will I not destroy the wise men of Edom, those of understanding in the mountains of Esau?

Here is what the Lord announces.“ At that time I will destroy the wise men of Edom. I will wipe out the men of understanding in the mountains of Esau.

Will I not on that day, declares the Lord, destroy the wise men out of Edom, and understanding out of Mount Esau?

At that time not a single wise person will be left in the whole land of Edom,” says the Lord.“ For on the mountains of Edom I will destroy everyone who has understanding.

In that day— this is the LORD’s declaration— will I not eliminate the wise ones of Edom and those who understand from the hill country of Esau?

Will I not on that day,” declares the Lord,“ Eliminate wise men from Edom, And understanding from the mountain of Esau?

“ Will I not in that day,” says the Lord,“ Even destroy the wise men from Edom, And understanding from the mountains of Esau?

Shall I not in that day, saith Jehovah, destroy the wise men out of Edom, and understanding out of the mount of Esau?

In that day— this is the Lord’s declaration— will I not eliminate the wise ones of Edom and those who understand from the hill country of Esau?

Shall I not in that day, saith the LORD, even destroy the wise[ men] out of Edom, and understanding out of the mount of Esau?

At that time,” the LORD says,“ I will destroy the wise sages of Edom! the advisers from Esau’s mountain!

therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvelous work among this people, even a marvelous work and a wonder; and the wisdom of their wise men will perish, and the understanding of their prudent men will be hidden.”

He frustrates the plans of the crafty, So that their hands can’t perform their enterprise.He takes the wise in their own craftiness; the counsel of the cunning is carried headlong.They meet with darkness in the day time, and grope at noonday as in the night.

Yahweh brings the counsel of the nations to nothing. He makes the thoughts of the peoples to be of no effect.

The spirit of Egypt will fail within it. I will destroy its counsel. They will seek the idols, the charmers, those who have familiar spirits, and the wizards.

The princes of Zoan have become fools. The princes of Memphis are deceived. They have caused Egypt to go astray, who are the cornerstone of her tribes.Yahweh has mixed a spirit of perverseness in the middle of her; and they have caused Egypt to go astray in all of its works, like a drunken man staggers in his vomit.

For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written,“ He has taken the wise in their craftiness.”And again,“ The Lord knows the reasoning of the wise, that it is worthless.”
