Jacob will be a fire and Joseph a flame; Esau will be stubble, and they will set him on fire and destroy him. There will be no survivors from Esau.” The Lord has spoken.

They will be like a fire. Joseph’s people will be like a flame. The nation of Edom will be like straw. Jacob’s people will set Edom on fire and burn it up. No one will be left alive among Esau’s people.” The Lord has spoken.

The house of Jacob shall be a fire, and the house of Joseph a flame, and the house of Esau stubble; they shall burn them and consume them, and there shall be no survivor for the house of Esau, for the Lord has spoken.

The people of Israel will be a raging fire, and Edom a field of dry stubble. The descendants of Joseph will be a flame roaring across the field, devouring everything. There will be no survivors in Edom. I, the Lord, have spoken!

Then the house of Jacob will be a blazing fire, and the house of Joseph, a burning flame, but the house of Esau will be stubble; Jacob will set them on fire and consume Edom. Therefore no survivor will remain of the house of Esau, for the LORD has spoken.

故其根必若朽物、其花飛散如塵、勢如火焰焚稈、烈焰燬芻、因彼違棄萬有之主之法、藐視以色列聖主之言、

彼因恐懼、雖可匿之磐巖、亦必越過、或作彼之力必因恐懼而歸於無有彼之將帥、必因旗纛而驚怯、此乃在郇有火場、在耶路撒冷有火爐之主所言、

豈知彼若草芥、被火焚燬、不能自救免遭火焰、更無餘炭、可以溫體、亦無微火、可坐其前、

即如居幕之以東人、與以實瑪利族、摩押人與夏甲之後裔、迦巴勒與亞捫及亞瑪力族、非利士人並推羅居民、亞述亦與之聯絡、皆扶助羅得之苗裔、細拉、求主待之如昔日待米甸人、如待西西拉與耶賓在基順水、皆滅亡在音多珥、屍骸皆成地上之糞、求主使其將帥收場、如俄立與西伊伯、使其君王結局、如西巴與撒慕拿、彼云、我必得天主之殿庭、殿庭或作土地作為己業、求我天主使之如旋風、使之如糠秕隨風飄蕩、如烈火焚燒林樹、如火燄烘燎山岡、願主以狂風驅之、以暴風驚之、

若有人以金銀寶石、草木禾稿、建於此基上、

惡惡好善、在公庭秉公義以判斷、庶幾主萬有之天主、矜憫約瑟之遺民、

用大樽飲酒、以至貴之油膏身、為約瑟患難、毫不憂愁、

在山巔跳躍有聲、若車疾行之聲、亦若火焚草芥之聲、勢若強軍、列陳以戰、

僕知有罪、故今日在約瑟族中、特先至以迎我主我王、

提幔歟、爾之勇士喪膽而恐懼、以掃山之居民、咸遭誅戮翦滅、因爾向爾弟雅各行強暴、必受辱蒙羞、被翦絕至永遠、
