When the camp is to move, Aaron and his sons are to go in and take down the shielding curtain and put it over the ark of the covenant law.

When the camp is ready to move, Aaron and his sons must go into the tent. They must take down the curtain that hides the ark where the tablets of the covenant law are kept. They must cover the ark with the curtain.

When the camp is to set out, Aaron and his sons shall go in and take down the veil of the screen and cover the ark of the testimony with it.

When the camp moves, Aaron and his sons must enter the Tabernacle first to take down the inner curtain and cover the Ark of the Covenant with it.

猶大旗下的營隊率先出發，率領猶大支派的是亞米拿達的兒子拿順，

呂便營區共十五萬一千四百五十人，他們是第二隊。隨後是會幕和利未人的營區，在其他各營中間。他們各就各位，各歸本旗，照安營時的次序出發。

率領他們到猶大的巴拉去接上帝的約櫃。這約櫃以坐在基路伯天使上面的萬軍之耶和華的名字命名。他們把上帝的約櫃從座落在山上的亞比拿達家抬出來，放在一輛新造的牛車上，由亞比拿達的兩個兒子烏撒和亞希約趕車，亞希約走在約櫃前面。大衛和全體以色列人在耶和華面前用琴、瑟、鼓、鈸和鑼奏樂，盡情歌舞。他們走到拿肯的麥場時，拉車的牛失蹄，烏撒便伸手去扶上帝的約櫃。耶和華上帝就向烏撒發怒，因他的不敬而擊殺了他。他死在了約櫃旁邊。大衛因耶和華擊殺烏撒而煩惱，就稱那地方為毗列斯·烏撒，沿用至今。那天，大衛懼怕耶和華，他說：「耶和華的約櫃怎能運到我這裡？」

哥轄宗族有暗蘭家族、以斯哈家族、希伯崙家族和烏薛家族，其中年齡在一個月以上的男性共有八千六百人，他們負責看守聖所。哥轄宗族的人要在聖幕南面安營，烏薛的兒子以利撒反做首領。他們負責照管約櫃、桌子、燈臺、兩座壇、聖所裡面的器具、幔子等一切物品。亞倫祭司的兒子以利亞撒是利未人的最高首領，負責監督在聖所工作的人。

「要用皂莢木做一個櫃，長一點一米，寬六十六釐米，高六十六釐米，裡外都要包上純金，要用金子鑲櫃邊。再造四個金環，安在櫃的四個腳上，每邊兩個環。用皂莢木造兩根橫杠，外面要包上金，然後把橫杠穿過櫃旁的金環，便於抬櫃。橫杠穿進環以後，不可再抽出來。把我將要賜給你的兩塊約版放在櫃裡。要用純金造一個施恩座，長一點一米，寬六十六釐米。用純金在施恩座的兩端打造兩個基路伯天使，跟施恩座連在一起，一端一個。兩個基路伯天使要面對面朝向施恩座，向上展開翅膀，遮蓋施恩座。要把施恩座放在櫃上面，把我賜給你的約版放在櫃裡。我就在那裡跟你會面，從兩個基路伯天使中間的施恩座上，把要傳給以色列百姓的一切誡命告訴你。
