The assembly must protect the one accused of murder from the avenger of blood and send the accused back to the city of refuge to which they fled. The accused must stay there until the death of the high priest, who was anointed with the holy oil.

The court must provide a safe place for the person accused of murder. It must keep the one accused of murder safe from those who want to kill them. The court must send the accused person back to the city they ran to for safety. The accused person must stay there until the high priest dies. That priest has been anointed with holy oil.

And the congregation shall rescue the manslayer from the hand of the avenger of blood, and the congregation shall restore him to his city of refuge to which he had fled, and he shall live in it until the death of the high priest who was anointed with the holy oil.

The community must protect the slayer from the avenger and must escort the slayer back to live in the city of refuge to which he fled. There he must remain until the death of the high priest, who was anointed with the sacred oil.

“若大祭司犯罪，祸及众民，他必须献给耶和华一头毫无残疾的公牛犊作赎罪祭。

“大祭司在众祭司中职分最高，头上浇过膏油，已经承受圣职、穿上圣衣，他不可披头散发、撕裂衣服。

弟兄姊妹，耶稣已用宝血为我们开辟了一条又新又活的路，使我们可以穿过幔子，就是祂的身体，坦然进入至圣所。

但蒙上帝的恩典，靠着基督耶稣的救赎，世人被无条件地称为义人。上帝使基督耶稣成为赎罪祭，以便人借着相信耶稣的宝血可以得到赦免。这是为了显明上帝的义，因为祂用忍耐的心宽容人过去的罪，好在现今显明祂的义，使人知道祂是公义的，祂也称信耶稣的为义人。

然后，摩西把膏油倒在亚伦头上膏立他，使他圣洁。

祂只进入至圣所一次便完成了永远的救赎，用的不是山羊和牛犊的血，而是自己的血。如果把山羊血、公牛血和母牛犊的灰洒在污秽的人身上，就可以使他们圣洁，身体得到洁净，更何况基督借着永恒的灵把自己毫无瑕疵地献给上帝呢？祂的血岂不更能洗净我们的良心，使我们脱离导致灭亡的行为，以便事奉永活的上帝吗？因此，祂是新约的中保，借着死亡救赎了触犯旧约的人，好叫那些蒙召的人得到所应许的永恒基业。

所以祂能拯救那些靠着祂来到上帝面前的人，直到永远，因为祂永远活着，为他们祈求。我们所需要的，正是这样一位圣洁无瑕、良善纯全、远离罪恶、超越诸天的大祭司。祂无需像其他大祭司每天先为自己的罪献祭，然后为百姓的罪献祭，因为祂只一次献上自己的生命，便永远完成了赎罪的工作。根据律法所立的大祭司都有弱点，但律法之后凭誓言所立的大祭司——上帝的儿子永远纯全。

并借着十字架消灭彼此间的敌意，使双方借着一个身体与上帝和好。祂来传扬这平安的福音给你们这些离上帝很远的外族人，也给我们这些离上帝很近的以色列人。我们双方都是靠着祂在同一位圣灵的引导下来到父上帝面前。

因为误杀人者必须留在避难城内，等到大祭司逝世之后，才可返回家园。

我们既然有一位已经升上高天的尊贵大祭司——上帝的儿子耶稣，就应当持守我们所认定的信仰。因为我们这位大祭司并非不能体恤我们的软弱，祂与我们一样曾经面对各样的试探，却从来没有犯罪。所以，让我们坦然无惧地到祂赐恩的宝座前，好领受怜悯和恩典，作随时的帮助。
