“现在，你们这群罪人的后代竟然重蹈前人的覆辙，加剧耶和华的怒气。

现在，你们这些罪人的族类，也来接替你们的先祖，增添耶和华对以色列的烈怒！

誰知，你們起來接續先祖，增添罪人的數目，使耶和華向以色列大發烈怒。

看哪，你們這一夥罪人，竟然接續你們父執之輩，再增加耶和華對以色列所發的怒氣。

今爾繼祖、增益罪人之數、使耶和華怒以色列族愈甚、

今爾繼祖、恆為犯罪之人、使耶和華怒以色列族愈甚。

今爾曹一類作孽者興、繼爾先人犯罪、使主怒以色列人更甚、

“ And here you are, a brood of sinners, standing in the place of your fathers and making the Lord even more angry with Israel.

“ Now here you are, you bunch of sinners! You have taken the place of your fathers. And you are making the Lord even angrier with Israel.

And behold, you have risen in your fathers’ place, a brood of sinful men, to increase still more the fierce anger of the Lord against Israel!

But here you are, a brood of sinners, doing exactly the same thing! You are making the Lord even angrier with Israel.

And here you, a brood of sinners, stand in your ancestors’ place adding even more to the LORD’s burning anger against Israel.

Now behold, you have risen up in your fathers’ place, born of sinful men, to add still more to the burning anger of the Lord against Israel.

And look! You have risen in your fathers’ place, a brood of sinful men, to increase still more the fierce anger of the Lord against Israel.

And, behold, ye are risen up in your fathers’ stead, an increase of sinful men, to augment yet the fierce anger of Jehovah toward Israel.

And here you, a brood of sinners, stand in your fathers’ place adding even more to the Lord’s burning anger against Israel.

Now look, you are standing in your fathers’ place, a brood of sinners, to increase still further the fierce wrath of the LORD against the Israelites.

You subdued before them the Canaanites, who lived in the land; you gave the Canaanites into their hands, along with their kings and the peoples of the land, to deal with them as they pleased.They captured fortified cities and fertile land; they took possession of houses filled with all kinds of good things, wells already dug, vineyards, olive groves and fruit trees in abundance. They ate to the full and were well-nourished; they reveled in your great goodness.“ But they were disobedient and rebelled against you; they turned their backs on your law. They killed your prophets, who had warned them in order to turn them back to you; they committed awful blasphemies. (niv)

“ See, it stands written before me: I will not keep silent but will pay back in full; I will pay it back into their laps—both your sins and the sins of your ancestors,” says the Lord.“ Because they burned sacrifices on the mountains and defied me on the hills, I will measure into their laps the full payment for their former deeds.” (niv)

Didn’t your ancestors do the same things, so that our God brought all this calamity on us and on this city? Now you are stirring up more wrath against Israel by desecrating the Sabbath.” (niv)

The Lord smelled the pleasing aroma and said in his heart:“ Never again will I curse the ground because of humans, even though every inclination of the human heart is evil from childhood. And never again will I destroy all living creatures, as I have done. (niv)

So you testify that you approve of what your ancestors did; they killed the prophets, and you build their tombs. (niv)

Would you not be angry enough with us to destroy us, leaving us no remnant or survivor? (niv)

So you testify against yourselves that you are the descendants of those who murdered the prophets.Go ahead, then, and complete what your ancestors started!“ You snakes! You brood of vipers! How will you escape being condemned to hell? (niv)
