Now the people of Reuben and the people of Gad had a very great number of livestock. And they saw the land of Jazer and the land of Gilead, and behold, the place was a place for livestock.

The tribes of Reuben and Gad owned vast numbers of livestock. So when they saw that the lands of Jazer and Gilead were ideally suited for their flocks and herds,

迦得的子孫、按他們的家族：屬洗分的、有洗分家族，屬哈基的、有哈基家族，屬書尼的、有書尼家族，屬阿斯尼的、有阿斯尼家族，屬以利的、有以利家族，屬亞律的、有亞律家族，屬亞列利的、有亞列利家族。這些是迦得子孫的家族，按其中被點閱的、有四萬零五百人。

跟亞伯蘭同行的羅得也有羊羣牛羣和帳棚。

利亞的婢女悉帕給雅各生了一個兒子。利亞就說：『好萬幸啊！』於是給孩子起名叫迦得。

以色列的長子如便：如便的子孫、屬哈諾的、有哈諾家族，屬法路的、有法路家族，屬希斯崙的、有希斯崙族，屬迦米的、有迦米家族。這些是如便的家族；其中被點閱的、有四萬三千七百三十人。

我必再領以色列回他草場；他必在迦密和巴珊喫草，又在以法蓮山地和基列境內喫得心滿意足。

他們的境界是雅謝、是基列所有的城、以及亞捫人一半的地，直到拉巴東面的亞羅珥；

羅得舉目，看見約但河那一片平原，沿到瑣珥的路向，各處水源充足，在永恆主還沒有毁滅所多瑪、蛾摩拉以前，就像永恆主的園子，就像埃及地一樣。於是羅得選擇了約但河那一片平原，向東邊往前行，他們就彼此分離了。

他們對法老說：『我們來、是要在這地寄居的，因為饑荒在迦南地很嚴重，那裏沒有牧場可以供給你僕人的羊羣：現在求王准僕人住在歌珊地。』

『在南邊、按着他們的部隊、是如便營的大旗；有示丟珥的兒子以利蓿做如便人的族長。他的部隊、被點閱的、有四萬六千五百人。挨着他而紮營的、是西緬支派；有蘇利沙代的兒子示路蔑做西緬人的族長。他的部隊、被點閱的、有五萬九千三百人。又迦得支派；有流珥的兒子以利雅薩做迦得人的族長。他的部隊、被點閱的、有四萬五千六百五十人。

求主用你的牧杖牧放你的子民，你產業的羊羣，就是那些安然獨居在森林中、在佳美園地中的；願他們在巴珊和基列得牧養，像在往古之日一樣。

因為世界上的事物、肉體的私慾、眼目的私慾、和人生的矜誇、都不是出於父，而是出於世界。

利亞懷孕生子，就給他起名叫如便，因為她說：『永恆主看見我的苦難；如今我丈夫必愛我了。』

亞伯蘭有牲畜金銀極多。

又有許多雜族眾人、跟極多的牲畜、包括羊羣牛羣、和他們一同上去。

他們過了約但河，便從亞羅珥、從谿谷中的城開始，向着迦得和雅謝走去；
