以色列人擄了他們的族弟兄、婦人兒女、共二十萬；又從他們中間劫掠了許多掠物，將掠物帶到撒瑪利亞。但那裏有永恆主的一個神言人名叫俄德、出來迎接那到撒瑪利亞來的軍隊，對他們說：『只因永恆主你們列祖的上帝惱怒了猶大人，他才將他們交在你們手裏，你們竟怒氣沖天，殺戮了他們。如今你們又心裏說要強迫猶大人和耶路撒冷人做你們的奴隸和婢女。這不是連你們也實實在在有得罪永恆主你們的上帝的罪麼？
