According to all that I am going to show you as the pattern of the tabernacle and the pattern of all its furniture, so you shall construct it.

However, since we have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, each of us is to use them properly: if prophecy, in proportion to one’s faith;if service, in the act of serving; or the one who teaches, in the act of teaching;or the one who exhorts, in the work of exhortation; the one who gives, with generosity; the one who is in leadership, with diligence; the one who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.

All the skillful people among those who were performing the work made the tabernacle with ten curtains; of fine twisted linen and violet, purple, and scarlet material, with cherubim, the work of a skilled embroiderer, Bezalel made them.The length of each curtain was twenty eight cubits, and the width of each curtain four cubits; all the curtains had the same measurements.He joined five curtains to one another, and the other five curtains he joined to one another.And he made loops of violet on the edge of the outermost curtain in the first set; he did likewise on the edge of the curtain that was outermost in the second set.He made fifty loops in the one curtain, and he made fifty loops on the edge of the curtain that was in the second set; the loops were opposite each other.He also made fifty clasps of gold, and joined the curtains to one another with the clasps, so that the tabernacle was a unit.Then he made curtains of goats’ hair for a tent over the tabernacle; he made eleven curtains in all.The length of each curtain was thirty cubits, and four cubits was the width of each curtain; the eleven curtains had the same measurements.He joined five curtains by themselves, and the other six curtains by themselves.Moreover, he made fifty loops on the edge of the curtain that was outermost in the first set, and he made fifty loops on the edge of the curtain that was outermost in the second set.He also made fifty clasps of bronze to join the tent together so that it would be a unit.And he made a covering for the tent of rams’ skins dyed red, and a covering of fine leather above.

The sons of Ladan, the sons of the Gershonites belonging to Ladan, namely, the Jehielites, were the heads of the fathers’ households, belonging to Ladan the Gershonite.The sons of Jehieli, Zetham, and his brother Joel, were in charge of the treasures of the house of the Lord.

“ You shall also make a curtain for the doorway of the tent of violet, purple, and scarlet material and fine twisted linen, the work of a weaver.And you shall make five pillars of acacia for the curtain and overlay them with gold, their hooks also of gold; and you shall cast five bases of bronze for them.

He also made a curtain for the doorway of the tent, of violet, purple, and scarlet material, and fine twisted linen, the work of a weaver;and he made its five pillars with their hooks, and he overlaid their tops and their bands with gold; but their five bases were of bronze.

Then I said to them,“ You are holy to the Lord, and the utensils are holy; and the silver and the gold are a voluntary offering to the Lord God of your fathers.Watch and keep them until you weigh them before the leading priests, the Levites, and the leaders of the fathers’ households of Israel in Jerusalem, in the chambers of the house of the Lord.”So the priests and the Levites accepted the weight of silver and gold and the utensils, to bring them to Jerusalem to the house of our God.

Then he set up the curtain for the doorway of the tabernacle.

Then the tabernacle was taken down; and the sons of Gershon and the sons of Merari, who were carrying the tabernacle, set out.

This command I entrust to you, Timothy, my son, in accordance with the prophecies previously made concerning you, that by them you fight the good fight,

This is the service of the families of the Gershonites, in serving and in carrying:they shall carry the curtains of the tabernacle and the tent of meeting with its covering and the covering of fine leather that is on top of it, and the curtain for the entrance of the tent of meeting,and the curtains of the courtyard, the curtain for the entrance of the gate of the courtyard that is around the tabernacle and the altar, and their ropes and all the equipment for their service; and everything that is to be done by them, they shall perform.All the service of the sons of the Gershonites, that is, all their loads and all their work, shall be performed at the command of Aaron and his sons; and you shall assign to them as a duty all their loads.This is the service of the families of the sons of the Gershonites in the tent of meeting; and their duties shall be under the direction of Ithamar the son of Aaron the priest.

Then Hezekiah commanded them to prepare rooms in the house of the Lord, and they prepared them.They faithfully brought in the contributions, the tithes, and the consecrated things; and Conaniah the Levite was the officer in charge of them, and his brother Shimei was second.Jehiel, Azaziah, Nahath, Asahel, Jerimoth, Jozabad, Eliel, Ismachiah, Mahath, and Benaiah were overseers under the authority of Conaniah and his brother Shimei by the appointment of King Hezekiah, and Azariah was the chief officer of the house of God.Kore the son of Imnah the Levite, the keeper of the eastern gate, was in charge of the voluntary offerings for God, to distribute the contributions for the Lord and the most holy things.Under his authority were Eden, Miniamin, Jeshua, Shemaiah, Amariah, and Shecaniah, in the cities of the priests, to distribute their portions faithfully to their brothers by divisions, whether great or small,without regard to their genealogical enrollment, to the males from thirty years old and upward— everyone who entered the house of the Lord for his daily obligations— for their work in their duties according to their divisions;as well as the priests who were enrolled genealogically according to their fathers’ households, and the Levites from twenty years old and upward, by their duties and their divisions.The genealogical enrollment included all their little children, their wives, their sons, and their daughters, for the whole assembly, for they consecrated themselves faithfully in holiness.

They shall perform the duties for him and for the whole congregation in front of the tent of meeting, to do the service of the tabernacle.

And he spread the tent over the tabernacle and put the covering of the tent on top of it, just as the Lord had commanded Moses.

So they are to perform the duties of the tent of meeting, the holy place, and of assisting the sons of Aaron their relatives, for the service of the house of the Lord.

And Hezekiah appointed the divisions of the priests and the Levites by their divisions, each according to his service, both the priests and the Levites, for burnt offerings and for peace offerings, to serve and to give thanks and to praise in the gates of the camp of the Lord.

It is like a man away on a journey, who upon leaving his house and putting his slaves in charge, assigning to each one his task, also commanded the doorkeeper to stay alert.

Of the Levites, there were Shemaiah the son of Hasshub, the son of Azrikam, the son of Hashabiah, of the sons of Merari;and Bakbakkar, Heresh, and Galal; and Mattaniah the son of Mica, the son of Zichri, the son of Asaph,and Obadiah the son of Shemaiah, the son of Galal, the son of Jeduthun; and Berechiah the son of Asa, the son of Elkanah, who lived in the settlements of the Netophathites.Now the gatekeepers were Shallum, Akkub, Talmon, Ahiman, and their relatives( Shallum the chiefbeing stationed until now at the king’s gate to the east). These were the gatekeepers for the camp of the sons of Levi.Shallum the son of Kore, the son of Ebiasaph, the son of Korah, and his relatives of his father’s house, the Korahites, were in charge of the work of the service, doorkeepers of the tent; and their fathers had been in charge of the camp of the Lord, keepers of the entrance.Phinehas the son of Eleazar was supervisor over them previously, and the Lord was with him.Zechariah the son of Meshelemiah was gatekeeper of the entrance of the tent of meeting.Those who were chosen to be gatekeepers at the thresholds were 212 in all. They were registered by genealogy in their settlements, those whom David and Samuel the seer appointed in their official capacity.So they and their sons were in charge of the gates of the house of the Lord, the house of the tent, in their divisions of service.The gatekeepers were on the four sides, to the east, west, north, and south.Their relatives in their settlements were to come in every seven days from time to time to be with them;for the four chief gatekeepers, who were Levites, served in an official capacity, and were in charge of the chambers and in charge of the treasuries in the house of God.They spent the night around the house of God, because the watch was committed to them; and they were in charge of opening it morning by morning.Now some of them were in charge of the utensils of the service, for they counted them when they brought them in and when they took them out.Some of them also were appointed over the furniture and over all the utensils of the sanctuary, and over the finely milled flour, the wine, the olive oil, the frankincense, and the balsam oil.Some of the sons of the priests prepared the mixing of the balsam oil.Mattithiah, one of the Levites, who was the firstborn of Shallum the Korahite, had the responsibility for the baking of cakes in pans.Some of their relatives of the sons of the Kohathites were in charge of the showbread to prepare it every Sabbath.Now these are the singers, heads of fathers’ households of the Levites, who lived in the chambers of the temple free of other duties; for they were engaged in their work day and night.
