If his father had no brothers, give his inheritance to the nearest relative in his clan, that he may possess it. This is to have the force of law for the Israelites, as the Lord commanded Moses.’”

Suppose his father doesn’t have any brothers. Then give his property to the nearest male relative in his family group. It will belong to him. That is what the law will require of the Israelites. It is just as the Lord commanded me.’ ”

And if his father has no brothers, then you shall give his inheritance to the nearest kinsman of his clan, and he shall possess it. And it shall be for the people of Israel a statute and rule, as the Lord commanded Moses.’”

於爾所居之地、此為律例、歷世弗替、

我叔之子哈拿篾、循耶和華言、詣護軍之院、謂我曰、我在便雅憫地亞拿突之田、請爾購之、蓋贖此田、承此業、皆爾所宜、請爾購為己有、我乃知此為耶和華之言、

語宜贖產者曰、自摩押而歸之拿俄米、將鬻我昆弟以利米勒之田、我意告爾、於坐此者、及我民之長老前、爾其購之、當贖之者乃爾、其次則我、別無他人、如爾欲贖、則贖之、不然、明以告我、其人曰、我欲贖之、波阿斯曰、爾由拿俄米手購田之日、亦由死者之婦、摩押女路得而購之、俾承其業、以繼死者之名、宜贖產者曰、我不能為己贖之、恐害我業、贖產之權、請爾操之、蓋我不能贖也、

或叔伯、或叔伯之子、或近親他人、俱可贖之、如己積資、足以自贖、自贖亦可、

假令宗族貧乏、鬻其產業、近戚當往贖之、
