The Lord put a word in Balaam’s mouth and said,“ Go back to Balak and give him this word.”

The Lord put a message in Balaam’s mouth. The Lord said,“ Go back to Balak. Give him my message.”

And the Lord put a word in Balaam’s mouth and said,“ Return to Balak, and thus you shall speak.”

The Lord gave Balaam a message for King Balak. Then he said,“ Go back to Balak and give him my message.”

Then the LORD put a message in Balaam’s mouth and said,“ Return to Balak and say what I tell you.”

Then the Lord put a word in Balaam’s mouth and said,“ Return to Balak, and this is what you shall speak.”

Then the Lord put a word in Balaam’s mouth, and said,“ Return to Balak, and thus you shall speak.”

And Jehovah put a word in Balaam’s mouth, and said, Return unto Balak, and thus thou shalt speak.

Then the Lord put a message in Balaam’s mouth and said,“ Return to Balak and say what I tell you.”

To humans belong the plans of the heart, but from the Lord comes the proper answer of the tongue. (niv)

He did not say this on his own, but as high priest that year he prophesied that Jesus would die for the Jewish nation, (niv)

for the Holy Spirit will teach you at that time what you should say.” (niv)
