But God said to Balaam,“ Do not go with them; you shall not curse the people, for they are blessed.”

But God said to Balaam,“ Do not go with them. You must not put a curse on those people, because they are blessed.”

Nevertheless, the Lord your God was unwilling to listen to Balaam, but the Lord your God turned the curse into a blessing for you because the Lord your God loves you.

Blessed are the people who are so situated; Blessed are the people whose God is the Lord!

Then Balaam said to Balak,“ Stand beside your burnt offering, and I will go; perhaps the Lord will come to meet me, and whatever He shows me I will tell you.” So he went to a bare hill.

just as David also speaks of the blessing of the person to whom God credits righteousness apart from works:“ Blessed are those whose lawless deeds have been forgiven, And whose sins have been covered.

God is not a man, that He would lie, Nor a son of man, that He would change His mind; Has He said, and will He not do it? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?Behold, I have received a command to bless; When He has blessed, I cannot revoke it.

Then Balak said to him,“ Please come with me to another place from where you may see them, although you will only see the extreme end of them and will not see all of them; and put a curse on them for me from there.”So he took him to the field of Zophim, to the top of Pisgah, and he built seven altars and offered a bull and a ram on each altar.Then he said to Balak,“ Stand here beside your burnt offering while I myself meet the Lord over there.”

and said,“ By Myself I have sworn, declares the Lord, because you have done this thing and have not withheld your son, your only son,indeed I will greatly bless you, and I will greatly multiply your seed as the stars of the heavens and as the sand, which is on the seashore; and your seed shall possess the gate of their enemies.And in your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice.”

And while he was sitting on the judgment seat, his wife sent him a message, saying,“ See that you have nothing to do with that righteous Man; for last night I suffered greatly in a dream because of Him.”

For there is no magic curse against Jacob, Nor is there any divination against Israel; At the proper time it shall be said to Jacob And to Israel, what God has done!

for the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.

Now please, you also stay here tonight, and I will find out what else the Lord will say to me.”And God came to Balaam at night and said to him,“ If the men have come to call you, rise and go with them; but you shall do only the thing that I tell you.”

In a dream, a vision of the night, When deep sleep falls on people, While they slumber in their beds,Then He opens the ears of people, And horrifies them with warnings,So that He may turn a person away from bad conduct, And keep a man from pride;

Blessed are you, Israel; Who is like you, a people saved by the Lord, The shield of your help, And He who is the sword of your majesty! So your enemies will cringe before you, And you will trample on their high places.”

Blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob, Whose hope is in the Lord his God,
