就反抗神和摩西，說：“你們為甚麼把我們從埃及領上來，使我們死在曠野呢？這裡沒有糧食，又沒有水，我們的心厭惡這淡薄的食物。”

就怨讟神和摩西说：“你们为什么把我们从埃及领出来、使我们死在旷野呢？这里没有粮，没有水，我们的心厌恶这淡薄的食物。”

百姓向上帝和摩西发怨言，说：“你们为什么把我们从埃及领上来，使我们死在旷野呢？这里没有粮食，没有水，我们厌恶这淡而无味的食物。”

埋怨上帝和摩西说：“你们为什么把我们从埃及带出来，叫我们死在旷野呢？这里无粮无水，我们厌恶这难吃的东西！”

they spoke against God and against Moses, and said,“ Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? There is no bread! There is no water! And we detest this miserable food!”

So they spoke against God and against Moses. They said,“ Why have you brought us up out of Egypt? Do you want us to die here in the desert? We don’t have any bread! We don’t have any water! And we hate this awful food!”

And the people spoke against God and against Moses,“ Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? For there is no food and no water, and we loathe this worthless food.”

and they began to speak against God and Moses.“ Why have you brought us out of Egypt to die here in the wilderness?” they complained.“ There is nothing to eat here and nothing to drink. And we hate this horrible manna!”

The people spoke against God and Moses:“ Why have you led us up from Egypt to die in the wilderness? There is no bread or water, and we detest this wretched food!”

So the people spoke against God and Moses:“ Why have you brought us up from Egypt to die in the wilderness? For there is no food and no water, and we are disgusted with this miserable food.”

And the people spoke against God and against Moses:“ Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? For there is no food and no water, and our soul loathes this worthless bread.”

And the people spake against God, and against Moses, Wherefore have ye brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? for there is no bread, and there is no water; and our soul loatheth this light bread.

The people spoke against God and Moses:“ Why have you led us up from Egypt to die in the wilderness? There is no bread or water, and we detest this wretched food!”

And the people spake against God, and against Moses, Wherefore have ye brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? for[ there is] no bread, neither[ is there any] water; and our soul loatheth this light bread.

And the people spoke against God and against Moses,“ Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness, for there is no bread or water, and we detest this worthless food.”

The people spoke against God and against Moses:“ Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? For there is no bread, there is no water, and our soul loathes this disgusting food!”

第二天，以色列全體會眾都向摩西和亞倫發怨言，說：“你們害死了耶和華的子民。”

他們妄論神，說：“神可以在曠野擺設筵席嗎？

因此人民與摩西爭吵，說：“給我們水喝吧。”摩西對他們說：“你們為甚麼與我爭吵呢？你們為甚麼試探耶和華呢？”人民在那裡渴望得水喝，就向摩西發怨言，說：“你為甚麼把我們從埃及領上來，使我們和我們的兒女，以及我們的牲畜都渴死呢？”

你把我們從流奶與蜜的地帶上來，要在曠野殺死我們，這算小事嗎？你還要自立為王管轄我們嗎？況且你沒有把我們領到流奶與蜜的地，也沒有把田地和葡萄園給我們作產業。難道你要把這些人的眼睛剜出來嗎？我們不上去。”

以色列人對摩西說：“我們要死了，我們滅亡了，我們都滅亡了。

當時，全體會眾大聲喧嚷；那夜眾民都哭號。以色列人向摩西和亞倫發怨言；全體會眾都對他們說：“但願我們早死在埃及地，或死在這曠野。耶和華為甚麼把我們領到這地來，死在刀劍之下呢？我們的妻子和孩子要被擄掠。我們回埃及去，豈不更好嗎？”於是他們彼此說：“我們另立一個首領，回埃及去吧。”

以色列全體會眾在曠野都向摩西和亞倫發怨言；以色列人對他們說：“我們寧願在埃及地坐在肉鍋旁邊，吃飯吃到飽的時候，死在耶和華的手裡！你們倒把我們領出來，到這曠野，是要叫這全體會眾餓死啊！”

他們對摩西說：“難道埃及沒有墳墓，你要把我們帶來死在曠野嗎？你為甚麼這樣待我們，把我們從埃及領出來呢？

人民發怨言，惡聲達到耶和華的耳中；耶和華聽見了，就發烈怒；耶和華的火就在他們中間焚燒，燒毀了營地的邊界。人民向摩西呼求，摩西懇求耶和華，火就熄了，就稱那地方作他備拉，因為耶和華的火曾在他們中間焚燒。他們中間的閒雜人起了貪慾，甚至連以色列人也哭著說：“誰給我們肉吃呢？我們記得在埃及的時候，可以不花錢吃魚，還有黃瓜、西瓜、韭菜、蔥和蒜。現在我們的心都枯乾了；除了這嗎哪以外，在我們眼前，甚麼都沒有。”這嗎哪仿佛芫荽子，又好像珍珠。人民走來走去，把嗎哪拾起來，或用磨磨碎，或用臼搗碎，或用鍋煮，或做成餅，它的滋味好像油餅的滋味。夜間露水降在營上的時候，嗎哪也隨著降下來。

吃飽的人連蜂房的蜜也厭惡；飢餓的人連一切苦的東西都覺得甘甜。

以色列家給這食物起名叫“嗎哪”，它像芫荽的種子，色白，味道像攙蜜的薄餅。

他降嗎哪給他們吃，把天上的食物賜給他們。於是人吃了天使的食物，是神賜下的食糧，使他們飽足。

明早你們必定看見耶和華的榮耀，因為耶和華聽見了你們向他所發的怨言了。我們算甚麼，你們竟向我們發怨言呢？”摩西又說：“耶和華晚上必給你們肉吃，早晨必給你們食物吃飽，因為耶和華聽見了你們埋怨他所說的怨言了。我們算甚麼？你們的怨言不是向我們發的，而是向耶和華發的。”

人民就向摩西發怨言，說：“我們喝甚麼呢？”

神使孤獨的有家可居住；領被囚的出來，到豐盛之處；唯有悖逆的住在乾旱之地。

以色列人看見了，就彼此對問說：“這是甚麼？”原來他們不知道那是甚麼。摩西對他們說：“這就是耶和華賜給你們吃的食物。
