他們在米利巴水邊惹耶和華發怒，以致摩西因他們的緣故也受了懲罰。因為他們抗拒神的靈（“他們抗拒神的靈”或譯：“他們激動摩西的心”），摩西用嘴說出冒失的話。他們沒有照著耶和華吩咐他們的，滅絕外族的人民，反而和外族人混居雜處，學習他們的風俗習慣。他們又事奉外族人的偶像，這就成了他們的網羅。他們把自己的兒女祭祀鬼魔。他們流了無辜人的血，就是他們自己兒女的血，把他們祭祀迦南的偶像；那地就被血污穢了。這樣，他們因自己所作的成了不潔，他們的行為使他們犯了邪淫。所以耶和華的怒氣向他的子民發作；他厭惡自己的產業，把他們交在外族人的手裡，恨惡他們的人就管轄他們。他們的仇敵壓迫他們，他們就屈服在仇敵的手下。神曾多次搭救他們，他們卻故意悖逆，以致因自己的罪孽降為卑微。可是他聽到了他們哀叫的時候，就垂顧他們的苦難。他為他們的緣故記念他自己的約，照著他豐盛的慈愛回心轉意。他又使他們在所有擄掠他們的人面前，得蒙憐恤。耶和華我們的神啊！求你拯救我們，把我們從萬國中招聚回來，我們好稱謝你的聖名，以讚美你為誇耀。耶和華以色列的神是應當稱頌的，從永遠到永遠。願眾民都說：“阿們。”你們要讚美耶和華。

因為你們在尋的曠野，在加低斯米利巴水邊，在以色列人中間悖逆我，在以色列人中間沒有尊我為聖。

你必上來攻擊我的子民以色列，像密雲遮蓋那地一樣。歌革啊！在以後的日子，我必領你來攻擊我的地，好叫列國在我藉著你向他們顯為聖的時候，能認識我。

我要使我的大名顯為聖，這名在列邦中已經被褻瀆了，是你們在他們中間所褻瀆的。我在你們身上向他們顯為聖的時候，他們就知道我是耶和華。這是主耶和華的宣告。

唯獨萬軍之耶和華，因公平被高舉；至聖的神，因公義顯為聖。

我從萬族中把你們領出來，從你們所分散到的列邦召集你們的時候，我必悅納你們，好像悅納馨香的祭一樣。我要在列國的人眼前，在你們中間顯為聖。
