他们在米利巴水边惹耶和华发怒，以致摩西因他们的缘故也受了惩罚。因为他们抗拒神的灵（“他们抗拒神的灵”或译：“他们激动摩西的心”），摩西用嘴说出冒失的话。他们没有照着耶和华吩咐他们的，灭绝外族的人民，反而和外族人混居杂处，学习他们的风俗习惯。他们又事奉外族人的偶像，这就成了他们的网罗。他们把自己的儿女祭祀鬼魔。他们流了无辜人的血，就是他们自己儿女的血，把他们祭祀迦南的偶像；那地就被血污秽了。这样，他们因自己所作的成了不洁，他们的行为使他们犯了邪淫。所以耶和华的怒气向他的子民发作；他厌恶自己的产业，把他们交在外族人的手里，恨恶他们的人就管辖他们。他们的仇敌压迫他们，他们就屈服在仇敌的手下。神曾多次搭救他们，他们却故意悖逆，以致因自己的罪孽降为卑微。可是他听到了他们哀叫的时候，就垂顾他们的苦难。他为他们的缘故记念他自己的约，照着他丰盛的慈爱回心转意。他又使他们在所有掳掠他们的人面前，得蒙怜恤。耶和华我们的神啊！求你拯救我们，把我们从万国中招聚回来，我们好称谢你的圣名，以赞美你为夸耀。耶和华以色列的神是应当称颂的，从永远到永远。愿众民都说：“阿们。”你们要赞美耶和华。

因为你们在寻的旷野，在加低斯米利巴水边，在以色列人中间悖逆我，在以色列人中间没有尊我为圣。

你必上来攻击我的子民以色列，像密云遮盖那地一样。歌革啊！在以后的日子，我必领你来攻击我的地，好叫列国在我藉着你向他们显为圣的时候，能认识我。

我要使我的大名显为圣，这名在列邦中已经被亵渎了，是你们在他们中间所亵渎的。我在你们身上向他们显为圣的时候，他们就知道我是耶和华。这是主耶和华的宣告。

唯独万军之耶和华，因公平被高举；至圣的神，因公义显为圣。

我从万族中把你们领出来，从你们所分散到的列邦召集你们的时候，我必悦纳你们，好像悦纳馨香的祭一样。我要在列国的人眼前，在你们中间显为圣。
