因为人的愤怒不能成就上帝的公义。

“你拿着杖和你哥哥亚伦招聚会众，当着他们的面吩咐磐石流出水来，水就会从磐石流出，供会众和牲畜喝。”

你为何不听从祂的命令？你为何急于掠夺财物，做耶和华视为邪恶的事呢？”

我曾在干旱的旷野照顾你们，

教导他们遵守我吩咐你们的一切。记住，我必常与你们同在，一直到世界的末了。”

撒母耳到了扫罗那里后，扫罗说：“愿耶和华赐福给你，我已经遵守了耶和华的命令。”撒母耳说：“那么，我现在听见的牛羊叫声是从哪里来的？”

他就对从犹大来的上帝的仆人说：“耶和华说，你违背了你的上帝耶和华的命令，没有遵从祂的吩咐，竟然在祂禁止你吃喝的地方吃饭喝水，因此你的尸体必不得安葬在你的祖坟里。”吃喝完了，老先知为他带回家的这位先知备驴启程，这位先知在路上遇到一头狮子，被咬死了，尸体倒在路上，驴和狮子都站在尸体旁边。

祂使水从磐石中滚滚流出，如滔滔江河。

亚伦的儿子拿答和亚比户各拿自己的香炉，点火加香，在耶和华面前献上凡火。他们这样做不合耶和华的吩咐。

大卫说：“除了利未人以外，谁也不可抬上帝的约柜，因为耶和华只拣选他们抬上帝的约柜，永远事奉祂。”

先前你们没有抬约柜，我们也没有按规矩求问我们的上帝耶和华，以致祂向我们发怒。”
