When they came to the valley of Eshcol, they cut down a branch with a single cluster of grapes so large that it took two of them to carry it on a pole between them! They also brought back samples of the pomegranates and figs.That place was called the valley of Eshcol( which means“ cluster”), because of the cluster of grapes the Israelite men cut there.

This is my command— be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

They picked some of its fruit and brought it back to us. And they reported,‘ The land the Lord our God has given us is indeed a good land.’

So we can say with confidence,“ The Lord is my helper, so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me?”

So be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the Lord your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you.”Then Moses called for Joshua, and as all Israel watched, he said to him,“ Be strong and courageous! For you will lead these people into the land that the Lord swore to their ancestors he would give them. You are the one who will divide it among them as their grants of land.Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord will personally go ahead of you. He will be with you; he will neither fail you nor abandon you.”

“ Now, my son, may the Lord be with you and give you success as you follow his directions in building the Temple of the Lord your God.

But Caleb tried to quiet the people as they stood before Moses.“ Let’s go at once to take the land,” he said.“ We can certainly conquer it!”But the other men who had explored the land with him disagreed.“ We can’t go up against them! They are stronger than we are!”
