我从以色列人中，把利未人赐给亚伦和他的众子，在会幕里办理以色列人的事务，又为以色列人赎罪，免得他们走近圣所的时候，就有灾祸临到他们。”

从以色列人那一半中，无论是人、牛、驴、羊群，或是各样牲畜，都要抽出五十分之一，交给负责看守耶和华帐幕的利未人。”

他们要替亚伦和全体会众，在会幕前尽上本分，办理帐幕的事。他们又要看守管理会幕里的一切器具，也要替以色列人尽上本分，办理帐幕的事。

摩西照着耶和华吩咐他的，从属于以色列人的那一半，无论是人口或是牲畜，都抽出五十分之一，交给负责看守耶和华帐幕的利未人。

圣灵既然立你们为全群的监督，牧养神用自己的血所赎来的教会，你们就应当为自己谨慎，也为全群谨慎。我知道在我离开之后，必有凶暴的豺狼进入你们中间，不顾惜羊群。你们自己中间也必有人起来，讲些歪曲悖谬的话，引诱门徒跟从他们。所以你们应当警醒，记念我三年之久，昼夜不停地带着眼泪劝戒你们各人。

耶和华因为伯．示麦人偷窥他的约柜，就击杀他们；他击杀了七十人（“七十人”大多数文本都作“五万零七十人”，少数文本作“七十人”）。众人因为耶和华用大灾击杀他们，就哀哭起来。

只要派利未人管理法柜的帐幕，和其中的一切器具，以及一切属于帐幕的事物；他们要抬帐幕和其中的一切器具；他们要办理帐幕的事，在帐幕四周安营。

在帐幕前面东边，就是在会幕前向日出的方向安营的，是摩西、亚伦和亚伦的儿子；他们代替以色列人应尽的职责，看守圣所；外人近前来，必被治死。

务要传道；无论时机是否适合，都要常作准备；要以多方的忍耐和教训责备人、警戒人、劝勉人。

在我来以前，你要专心宣读圣经、劝勉和教导。不要忽略你所得的恩赐，就是众长老按手时藉着预言赐给你的。这些事你要认真实行，专心去作，使众人看出你的长进来。你要谨慎自己，留心自己的教训。在这些事上要有恒心，因为你这样作，不但能救自己，也能救那些听你的人。

先知说假预言，祭司凭己意把持权柄。我的子民竟喜爱这样，到了结局你们怎么办呢？”

你要带着你的亲族利未支派的人，就是你祖宗支派的人，与你一同前来，使他们与你联合，并且服事你；只是你和你的儿子要与你一同在约柜的会幕前供职。他们要守你所吩咐的，和会幕里的一切事，只是不可走近圣所的器具和祭坛，免得他们和你们都死亡。他们要与你联合，也要守会幕的本分，办理会幕的一切事务；只是外人不可走近你们。你们要看守圣所和祭坛，免得震怒再临到以色列人。

“关于利未人的职责是这样：从二十五岁及以上的，要进来办理会幕里的事务；到了五十岁，就要停止办理事务，不再办事；只要在会幕里帮助自己的兄弟，尽忠职守，事务却不必办理了。关于利未人的职守，你要这样向他们行。”

因此，论到这些先知，万军之耶和华这样说：“看哪！我必使他们吃苦堇，喝毒水，因为有不敬虔的风气，从耶路撒冷的先知中散播出来，遍及全地。”

至于我们，耶和华是我们的神，我们并没有离弃他；我们有事奉耶和华的祭司，都是亚伦的子孙，并且有利未人负责工作。
