The God of glory appeared to our father Abraham when he was in Mesopotamia, before he lived in Haran,and He said to him,‘ Go from your country and your relatives, and come to the land which I will show you.’Then he left the land of the Chaldeans and settled in Haran. And from there, after his father died, God had him move to this country in which you are now living.

Yet the Lord set His affection on your fathers, to love them, and He chose their descendants after them, you over all the other peoples, as it is this day.

Look to Abraham your father And to Sarah who gave birth to you in pain; When he was only one I called him, Then I blessed him and multiplied him.”

“ But you, Israel, My servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, Descendant of Abraham My friend,You whom I have taken from the ends of the earth And called from its remotest parts, And said to you,‘ You are My servant, I have chosen you and have not rejected you.

And He said to him,“ I am the Lord who brought you out of Ur of the Chaldeans, to give you this land to possess it.”
