永恆主啊，惟獨你是上帝，那曾揀選了亞伯蘭、領他出迦勒底之吾珥、給他起名叫亞伯拉罕的。

主天主歟、昔選亞伯蘭、導之出迦勒底之吾珥、賜名亞伯拉罕、

“ You are the Lord God, who chose Abram and brought him out of Ur of the Chaldeans and named him Abraham.

“ You are the Lord God. You chose Abram. You brought him out of Ur in the land of Babylon. You named him Abraham.

You are the Lord, the God who chose Abram and brought him out of Ur of the Chaldeans and gave him the name Abraham.

“ You are the Lord God, who chose Abram and brought him from Ur of the Chaldeans and renamed him Abraham.

You, the LORD, are the God who chose Abram and brought him out of Ur of the Chaldeans, and changed his name to Abraham.

他拉帶着他的兒子亞伯蘭、和他的孫子、哈蘭的兒子羅得、跟他兒媳婦亞伯蘭的妻子撒萊，領他們出了迦勒底人的吾珥，要往迦南地去；他們走到喀蘭，就住在那裏。

你的名必不再叫亞伯蘭；你的名要改作亞伯拉罕，因為我已立了你做羣國之父。』

約書亞對眾民說：『永恆主以色列的上帝這麼說：古時你們的先祖、亞伯拉罕的父親、也就是拿鶴的父親、他拉，住在大河那邊；他們事奉別的神。我將你們的先祖亞伯拉罕從大河那邊帶來，領他走遍迦南全地；我使他的後裔眾多，把以撒賜給他；

永恆主對亞伯蘭說：『你要離開你本地、你親族、你父親的家，往我所要指示你的地去。『我必使你成為大國；我必給你祝福，使你的名尊大；成為祝福的口頭語：

司提反說：『同人，弟兄父老們，請聽。我們的先祖亞伯拉罕在米所波大米、還沒住在喀蘭的時候、榮耀之上帝向他顯現，對他說：「你要從你本地你親族中出來，到我所要指示你的地方去。」亞伯拉罕就從迦勒底人的地方出來，住在喀蘭。從那裏，他父親死了以後，上帝就把他搬到你們現今所住的這個地方來。

然而永恆主卻只傾心於你列祖而愛他們；他從萬族之民中揀選了你們做他們以後的苗裔、像今日一樣。

要瞻仰你們的祖先亞伯拉罕、和那生你們、的撒拉；因為亞伯拉罕獨自一人時、我呼召了他，賜福與他，使他人數增多。

但你以色列、我的僕人、你雅各、我所揀選的、我朋友亞伯拉罕的後裔、我從地儘邊所抓來的，從地極角所召來的，我對你說：『你是我的僕人；我揀選了你，並不棄絕你。』

永恆主又對亞伯蘭說：『我是永恆主，曾領你出了迦勒底的吾珥，為的是要將這地賜給你，使你取得它為基業。』
