Every time you punished us you were being just. We have sinned greatly, and you gave us only what we deserved.

In all that has happened to us, you have remained righteous; you have acted faithfully, while we acted wickedly.

In spite of everything that has happened to us, you have been fair. You have been faithful in what you have done. But we did what was evil.

Yet you have been righteous in all that has come upon us, for you have dealt faithfully and we have acted wickedly.

You are righteous concerning all that has happened to us, because you have acted faithfully, while we have acted wickedly.

However, You are righteous in everything that has happened to us; For You have dealt faithfully, but we have acted wickedly.

However You are just in all that has befallen us; For You have dealt faithfully, But we have done wickedly.

Howbeit thou art just in all that is come upon us; for thou hast dealt truly, but we have done wickedly;

You are righteous concerning all that has come on us, because You have acted faithfully, while we have acted wickedly.

Howbeit thou[ art] just in all that is brought upon us; for thou hast done right, but we have done wickedly:

You are righteous with regard to all that has happened to us, for you have acted faithfully. It is we who have been in the wrong!

However you are just in all that has come on us; for you have dealt truly, but we have done wickedly.

Surely you wouldn’t do such a thing, destroying the righteous along with the wicked. Why, you would be treating the righteous and the wicked exactly the same! Surely you wouldn’t do that! Should not the Judge of all the earth do what is right?”

Like our ancestors, we have sinned. We have done wrong! We have acted wickedly!

Lord, you always give me justice when I bring a case before you. So let me bring you this complaint: Why are the wicked so prosperous? Why are evil people so happy?

We don’t set the time when we will come before God in judgment.

“ The Lord is right,” Jerusalem says,“ for I rebelled against him. Listen, people everywhere; look upon my anguish and despair, for my sons and daughters have been taken captive to distant lands.

But we have sinned and done wrong. We have rebelled against you and scorned your commands and regulations.We have refused to listen to your servants the prophets, who spoke on your authority to our kings and princes and ancestors and to all the people of the land.“ Lord, you are in the right; but as you see, our faces are covered with shame. This is true of all of us, including the people of Judah and Jerusalem and all Israel, scattered near and far, wherever you have driven us because of our disloyalty to you.O Lord, we and our kings, princes, and ancestors are covered with shame because we have sinned against you.But the Lord our God is merciful and forgiving, even though we have rebelled against him.We have not obeyed the Lord our God, for we have not followed the instructions he gave us through his servants the prophets.All Israel has disobeyed your instruction and turned away, refusing to listen to your voice.“ So now the solemn curses and judgments written in the Law of Moses, the servant of God, have been poured down on us because of our sin.You have kept your word and done to us and our rulers exactly as you warned. Never has there been such a disaster as happened in Jerusalem.Every curse written against us in the Law of Moses has come true. Yet we have refused to seek mercy from the Lord our God by turning from our sins and recognizing his truth.Therefore, the Lord has brought upon us the disaster he prepared. The Lord our God was right to do all of these things, for we did not obey him.

O Lord, you are righteous, and your regulations are fair.

“ But at last my people will confess their sins and the sins of their ancestors for betraying me and being hostile toward me.When I have turned their hostility back on them and brought them to the land of their enemies, then at last their stubborn hearts will be humbled, and they will pay for their sins.

He will declare to his friends,‘ I sinned and twisted the truth, but it was not worth it.

The Lord is righteous in everything he does; he is filled with kindness.
