For many years you were patient with them. By your Spirit you warned them through your prophets. Yet they paid no attention, so you gave them into the hands of the neighboring peoples.

For many years you put up with them. By your Spirit you warned them through your prophets. In spite of that, they didn’t pay any attention. So you handed them over to the nations that were around them.

Many years you bore with them and warned them by your Spirit through your prophets. Yet they would not give ear. Therefore you gave them into the hand of the peoples of the lands.

In your love, you were patient with them for many years. You sent your Spirit, who warned them through the prophets. But still they wouldn’t listen! So once again you allowed the peoples of the land to conquer them.

爾強項塞心充耳之人、恆逆聖神、爾祖所行、爾亦若是、

雅各家以色列族為人攘奪、為人俘囚、誰使之然、非我耶和華乎、彼蹈罪愆、不從我道、不遵我法、

夷考基督之神、牖先知衷、預明基督何時遘艱苦、何時受榮光、

以古預言、原非臆說、乃上帝聖人、感於聖神而言之、

抑藐視其鴻慈、寛容、恆忍、不知上帝之仁愛、導爾悔改乎、

我語汝、今此葡萄園、將何以處之、必撤藩衛、任其吞噬、毀垣墉、聽其蹂躪、不治不修、變為荒蕪、荊棘叢生、使天不雨。

萬有之主耶和華曰、昔我諭眾、眾不聽從、今眾籲我、我亦不聽、

昔耶和華所定之事、今已為之、言無不應、彼傾爾邑、不加矜恤、使敵崢嶸、勝爾而喜兮。

斯民違逆、使聖神懷憂、故耶和華視若讎民、而攻擊之。

加以訓誨、使服爾律例、彼妄自誇大、不從爾命、爾之法度、遵之者則得生、彼故犯之、強項難馴、背命不聽。

乃民弗順、違逆乎爾、背爾律例、爾之先知訓迪之、使歸於爾、反為所殺、干爾震怒。

耶和華遣其先知先見者、責以色列猶大二族、曰、當棄惡行、守我禁令禮儀、從我所命諸先知、傳爾列祖之律例、斯民弗聽、強項不馴、不信其上帝耶和華、與列祖無異。昔上帝與列祖立約、斯民背之、棄其所命、違其禮儀、崇事虛無、亦為放誕、四周之異邦人、耶和華曾命、勿效其尤、彼不聽從、反崇信焉、棄其上帝耶和華之命、鑄二金犢、樹立木偶、崇拜天象、奉事巴力、焚獻子女、專用卜筮、維惡是務、干耶和華震怒。故耶和華怒以色列族、驅於其前、靡有孑遺、所餘者惟猶大族而已。

其列祖之上帝耶和華、矜憫其民、視其殿為貴重、數遣使訓誨之、彼譏上帝之使、藐視其命、侮其先知、干耶和華震怒、不復援手、

自爾祖出埃及之時、迄於今日、我數遣諸僕先知、訓迪爾眾、

侍衛長告耶利米曰、昔爾曹負罪、干犯耶和華、不遵其命、爾之上帝耶和華言、必降災於斯土、今一如其言、爾曹遇難其驗也。

惟主上帝、仁慈矜憫、恆忍不已、施恩格外、踐其前言兮、

兩不相合、將散、保羅發言曰、昔聖神以先知以賽亞、告我列祖者、其言誠是、云、

耶和華之僕先知、數奉使告爾、惟爾不傾耳以聽。

見爾作惡、深堪痛疾不能復忍、故使爾土荒蕪、無人居處、為人詛咒駭異、今日之事為證。

在曠野四十年包容之、

以爾聖神訓迪、錫嗎嗱以充其飢、出清泉以止其渴。

主既言矣、必不遲行、人視主為濡滯、主實寛我、欲人悔改、不欲人沉淪、
