加以訓誨、使服爾律例、彼妄自誇大、不從爾命、爾之法度、遵之者則得生、彼故犯之、強項難馴、背命不聽。

加以警戒、使復服主之律法、乃彼狂妄、不從主之誡命、干犯主之法度、人若遵之必得生、彼乃違背強項、不欲聽從、

“ You warned them in order to turn them back to your law, but they became arrogant and disobeyed your commands. They sinned against your ordinances, of which you said,‘ The person who obeys them will live by them.’ Stubbornly they turned their backs on you, became stiff- necked and refused to listen.

“ You warned them so that they would obey your law again. But they became proud. They didn’t obey your commands. They sinned against your rules. You said,‘ Anyone who obeys my rules will live by them.’ But the people didn’t care about that. They turned their backs on you. They became very stubborn. They refused to listen to you.

And you warned them in order to turn them back to your law. Yet they acted presumptuously and did not obey your commandments, but sinned against your rules, which if a person does them, he shall live by them, and they turned a stubborn shoulder and stiffened their neck and would not obey.

“ You warned them to return to your Law, but they became proud and obstinate and disobeyed your commands. They did not follow your regulations, by which people will find life if only they obey. They stubbornly turned their backs on you and refused to listen.

And admonished them in order to turn them back to Your Law. And testified against them, That You might bring them back to Your law. Yet they acted proudly, And did not heed Your commandments, But sinned against Your judgments,‘ Which if a man does, he shall live by them.’ And they shrugged their shoulders, Stiffened their necks, And would not hear.

但是我们的列祖狂妄自大，硬着颈项，不听从你的命令。

所以你们要谨守我的律例和典章；人应该遵行这些，按照它们生活，我是耶和华。

“可是他们竟悖逆，背叛你，把你的律法丢在背后，杀害那些控告他们，要他们归向你的先知，犯了亵渎的大罪。

因为你知道埃及人怎样狂妄自大地对待他们，所以就对法老和他的一切臣仆，以及他国中所有的人民，施行神迹奇事，为你自己建立了至今仍存的名声。

但神所赐的恩更大；所以圣经上说：“神对抗骄傲的人，赐恩给谦卑的人。”你们应当顺服神，抵挡魔鬼，魔鬼就逃避你们。你们应当亲近神，神就亲近你们。罪人啊，要洁净你们的手；三心两意的人哪，要清洁你们的心。你们要愁苦、悲哀、哭泣，把欢笑变为伤痛，把快乐变为忧愁。你们务要在主面前谦卑，他就使你们高升。

但他们不肯听从，反而硬着颈项，充耳不闻（“反而硬着颈项，充耳不闻”直译是“转着固执的肩膊，使自己的耳朵发沉不听”）。他们使自己的心刚硬如金钢石，不肯听从律法和万军之耶和华藉着他的灵、透过从前的先知所说的话。因此，万军之耶和华非常忿怒。

何沙雅的儿子亚撒利雅，和加利亚的儿子约哈难，以及所有狂傲的人，就对耶利米说：“你在说谎！耶和华我们的神并没有差遣你来说：‘你们不可去埃及，在那里寄居。’

“万军之耶和华以色列的神这样说：‘看哪！我必使我宣告攻击这城的一切灾祸，临到这城和她附近的一切城镇，因为他们硬着颈项，不听从我的话。’”

“从犹大王亚们的儿子约西亚第十三年直到今日，这二十三年来，常有耶和华的话临到我，我也不断对你们传讲，你们却不听从。耶和华虽然不断差遣他的仆人众先知到你们那里去；但你们却没有听从，毫不留心。他们对你们说：‘你们各人要悔改，离开自己的恶道和邪恶的行为，就可以住在耶和华赐给你们和你们列祖的土地上，直到永永远远。’”“你们不要随从别的神，不要事奉敬拜他们，也不可容你们手所作的惹我发怒；这样，我就不会使祸患临到你们。但你们没有听从我，竟容你们手所作的惹我发怒，自招祸害。”这是耶和华的宣告。

你们的列祖却没有听从，毫不在意，反而硬着颈项不肯听，不受管教。’”

你们（“你们”原文作“他们”）却没有听从，毫不留心，反倒硬着颈项行恶，比你们（“你们”原文作“他们”）的列祖还厉害。

因此，我藉众先知砍碎他们，用我口中的话杀戮他们；我的审判必如光一般发出。

直到今日，他们还没有痛悔，没有畏惧，也没有遵行我在你们和你们列祖面前所立的律法和条例。’

你们要听，要留心听，不要骄傲；因为是耶和华说的。耶和华你们的神还没有使黑暗临到以前，你们的脚还没有在昏暗的山上绊倒之前，你们要把荣耀归给他。你们期待光明，他却把光明变为死荫，使光明变成黝黑。如果你们不听从，我必因你们的骄傲暗暗哭泣；我的眼必痛哭流泪，因为耶和华的羊群被掳去了。

律法本来不是出于信，而是说：“遵行这些事的人，就必因这些事而活。”

“你奉耶和华的名对我们所说的话，我们不听从。我们口中说过的一切话，我们一定去作，我们要向天后烧香，浇奠祭，好像我们自己和我们的列祖，以及我们的君王和领袖，在犹大的各城和耶路撒冷的街上所行的一样。那时我们吃得饱，得享福乐，不见灾祸。

但他心高气傲、妄自尊大的时候，就从国位上被赶下来，他的尊荣也被夺去。

摩西和亚伦就到法老那里去，对他说：“耶和华希伯来人的神这样说：‘你拒绝在我面前谦卑要到几时呢？让我的人民离开吧，使他们可以事奉我。

他们遭遇许多灾祸和患难的时候，这首诗歌就必在他们面前作证，因为这首诗歌必不会从他们后裔的口中忘记。其实，我还未领他们进入我起誓应许之地以先，他们今日心里所怀的意念，我都知道了。”

但耶和华仍然差派先知到他们中间，引导他们归向耶和华；这些先知虽然警告他们，他们却不肯听从。

我今日就呼天唤地向你们作证，你们必在过约旦河取得为业的地上迅速灭亡；你们必不能在那地长久生存，必全被消灭。

耶稣说：“你答得对，你这样行，就必得生命。”

论到出于律法的义，摩西写着说：“遵行这些事的人就必因这些事而活。”

耶和华他们列祖的神，因为爱惜自己的子民和居所，就常常差派使者警戒他们。

耶和华曾藉着他的众先知和先见警告以色列人和犹大人说：“从你们的恶道上转回吧！谨守我的吩咐和我的律例，就是我曾吩咐你们的祖先，和藉着我的仆人众先知传递给你们的一切律法。”

我把我的律例赐给他们，把我的典章指示他们；人如果遵行，就必因此活着。
