They refused to listen and failed to remember the miracles you performed among them. They became stiff-necked and in their rebellion appointed a leader in order to return to their slavery. But you are a forgiving God, gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love. Therefore you did not desert them,

They refused to listen to you. They forgot the miracles you had done among them. So they became stubborn. When they refused to obey you, they appointed a leader for themselves. They wanted to go back to being slaves in Egypt. But you are a God who forgives. You are gracious. You are tender and kind. You are slow to get angry. You are full of love. So you didn’t desert them.

They forgot what He had done, the wonderful works He had shown them.

For You, Lord, are kind and ready to forgive, rich in faithful love to all who call on You.

But You, Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger and rich in faithful love and truth.

They did not remember His power shown on the day He redeemed them from the foe,when He performed His miraculous signs in Egypt and His wonders in the region of Zoan.

Let the wicked one abandon his way and the sinful one his thoughts; let him return to the Lord, so He may have compassion on him, and to our God, for He will freely forgive.“ For My thoughts are not your thoughts, and your ways are not My ways.” This is the Lord’s declaration.“ For as heaven is higher than earth, so My ways are higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.

They soon forgot His works and would not wait for His counsel.

Tear your hearts, not just your clothes, and return to the Lord your God. For He is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger, rich in faithful love, and He relents from sending disaster.

He rescued them many times, but they continued to rebel deliberately and were beaten down by their sin.When He heard their cry, He took note of their distress,remembered His covenant with them, and relented according to the riches of His faithful love.He caused them to be pitied before all their captors.

Yet He was compassionate; He atoned for their guilt and did not destroy them. He often turned His anger aside and did not unleash all His wrath.

They despised the pleasant land and did not believe His promise.They grumbled in their tents and did not listen to the Lord’s voice.

Our fathers in Egypt did not grasp the significance of Your wonderful works or remember Your many acts of faithful love; instead, they rebelled by the sea— the Red Sea.

The Lord is slow to anger and rich in faithful love, forgiving wrongdoing and rebellion. But He will not leave the guilty unpunished, bringing the consequences of the fathers’ wrongdoing on the children to the third and fourth generation.Please pardon the wrongdoing of this people, in keeping with the greatness of Your faithful love, just as You have forgiven them from Egypt until now.”

Why is the Lord bringing us into this land to die by the sword? Our wives and little children will become plunder. Wouldn’t it be better for us to go back to Egypt?”So they said to one another,“ Let’s appoint a leader and go back to Egypt.”

The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger and rich in faithful love.He will not always accuse us or be angry forever.He has not dealt with us as our sins deserve or repaid us according to our offenses.For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is His faithful love toward those who fear Him.As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear Him.For He knows what we are made of, remembering that we are dust.As for man, his days are like grass— he blooms like a flower of the field;when the wind passes over it, it vanishes, and its place is no longer known.But from eternity to eternity the Lord’s faithful love is toward those who fear Him, and His righteousness toward the grandchildrenof those who keep His covenant, who remember to observe His precepts.

Furthermore, you didn’t bring us to a land flowing with milk and honey or give us an inheritance of fields and vineyards. Will you gouge out the eyes of these men? We will not come!”

Who is a God like You, removing iniquity and passing over rebellion for the remnant of His inheritance? He does not hold on to His anger forever, because He delights in faithful love.He will again have compassion on us; He will vanquish our iniquities. You will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea.

But with You there is forgiveness, so that You may be revered.

Therefore I will always remind you about these things, even though you know them and are established in the truth you have.I consider it right, as long as I am in this bodily tent, to wake you up with a reminder,knowing that I will soon lay aside my tent, as our Lord Jesus Christ has also shown me.And I will also make every effort that you may be able to recall these things at any time after my departure.

Then the Lord passed in front of him and proclaimed: Yahweh— Yahweh is a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger and rich in faithful love and truth,maintaining faithful love to a thousand generations, forgiving wrongdoing, rebellion, and sin. But He will not leave the guilty unpunished, bringing the consequences of the fathers’ wrongdoing on the children and grandchildren to the third and fourth generation.

I will live among the Israelites and not abandon My people Israel.”

The Lord said to Moses,“ How long will these people despise Me? How long will they not trust in Me despite all the signs I have performed among them?

The Lord is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and great in faithful love.The Lord is good to everyone; His compassion rests on all He has made.

Our ancestors were unwilling to obey him, but pushed him away, and in their hearts turned back to Egypt.

Don’t you understand yet? Don’t you remember the five loaves for the 5,000 and how many baskets you collected?Or the seven loaves for the 4,000 and how many large baskets you collected?Why is it you don’t understand that when I told you,‘ Beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees,’ it wasn’t about bread?”

to the praise of His glorious grace that He favored us with in the Beloved.We have redemption in Him through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace

But Moses responded,“ Why are you going against the Lord’s command? It won’t succeed.

For He tells Moses: I will show mercy to whom I will show mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.

Make sure that you do not reject the One who speaks. For if they did not escape when they rejected Him who warned them on earth, even less will we if we turn away from Him who warns us from heaven.

Since I called out and you refused, extended my hand and no one paid attention,

May the Lord our God be with us as He was with our ancestors. May He not abandon us or leave us
