Then Nehemiah the governor, Ezra the priest and teacher of the Law, and the Levites who were instructing the people said to them all,“ This day is holy to the Lord your God. Do not mourn or weep.” For all the people had been weeping as they listened to the words of the Law.

Nehemiah was the governor. Ezra was a priest and the teacher of the Law. They spoke up. So did the Levites who were teaching the people. All these men said to the people,“ This day is set apart to honor the Lord your God. So don’t weep. Don’t be sad.” All the people had been weeping as they listened to the words of the Law.

And Nehemiah, who was the governor, and Ezra the priest and scribe, and the Levites who taught the people said to all the people,“ This day is holy to the Lord your God; do not mourn or weep.” For all the people wept as they heard the words of the Law.

有些族长为工程捐出财物。省长捐出八点五公斤金子、五十个碗和五百三十件祭司礼服。

省长吩咐他们不可吃至圣之物，直到使用乌陵和土明的祭司出现。

七月一日，以斯拉祭司把律法书带到能听懂的男女会众面前，

你们和家人要在那里，在你们的上帝耶和华面前吃喝；要为你们所做的一切蒙祂赐福而欢喜快乐。

在那里，你们和儿女、仆婢及同城中没有分到土地作产业的利未人，要一起在你们的上帝耶和华面前欢喜快乐。

哭泣有时，欢笑有时；哀伤有时，雀跃有时；

在上面盖印的有哈迦利亚的儿子尼希米省长，以及西底迦；

住棚节期间，你们要和儿女、仆婢、同城的利未人、寄居者及孤儿寡妇一起欢庆。要在你们的上帝耶和华选定的地方，为祂守住棚节七天；要满心欢喜，因为你们的上帝耶和华赐福你们，使你们的出产丰富、凡事顺利。

“你告诉以色列人，‘你们要在七月一日休息，要吹号作纪念，召开圣会。

你们要和儿女、仆婢、同城的利未人、寄居者及孤儿寡妇在你们的上帝耶和华选定的敬拜场所，在祂面前一起欢喜快乐。

省长吩咐他们，要等到用乌陵和土明求问上帝的祭司出现后，才可以吃至圣之物。

“七月一日，你们不可工作，要举行圣会，吹响号角。你们要把馨香的燔祭献给耶和华，即毫无残疾的公牛犊一头、公绵羊一只和一岁的公羊羔七只；同时要献上调了油的细面粉作素祭，每头公牛犊需献三公斤素祭，每只公绵羊需献两公斤素祭，每只公羊羔需献一公斤素祭；还要献上一只公山羊作赎罪祭，为你们赎罪。此外，要照常献上朔日和日常应献的燔祭、素祭和奠祭，给耶和华作馨香的火祭。

我没认识律法之前是活的，但律法来了之后，罪就活了，而我却死了。

以斯拉是祭司和律法教师，精通耶和华赐给以色列的诫命和律例。亚达薛西王降旨给以斯拉，内容如下：

以华冠取代锡安哀伤者头上的灰尘，以喜乐的膏油取代他们的哀伤，以颂赞的外袍取代他们的沮丧。他们将被称为耶和华所栽种的公义橡树，以彰显祂的荣耀。

这些圣物，我们守丧期间没有吃过，不洁净时没有拿过，也没有献给死人。我们听从你——我们的上帝耶和华，遵行你的一切吩咐。

又对将自己献给耶和华、负责教导以色列人的利未人说：“你们把圣约柜放在以色列王大卫的儿子所罗门建的殿里，不用再扛在肩上。现在你们去事奉你们的上帝耶和华和祂的以色列子民吧。

耶书亚、巴尼、示利比、雅悯、亚谷、沙比太、荷第雅、玛西雅、基利他、亚撒利雅、约撒拔、哈难、毗莱雅和利未人帮助民众明白律法，当时民众都站在自己的地方。他们宣读上帝的律法书，并解释清楚，使民众明白所宣读的。

希西迦慰劳所有善于事奉耶和华的利未人。于是，众人欢宴过节七天，又献上平安祭，称谢他们祖先的上帝耶和华。

因为你听到我对这地方及其居民的警告，知道这地方要受咒诅、沦为荒场，便悔改，在我面前谦卑，撕裂衣服，向我哭泣。因此，我垂听了你的祷告。这是我耶和华说的。

现在我很欢喜，当然不是因为你们忧伤而欢喜，而是看见你们因忧伤而悔改了。因为你们这样忧伤合乎上帝的心意，使你们不致因我们而受到任何损失。合乎上帝心意的忧伤会带来悔改，使人得到救恩，永不后悔，但世俗的忧伤只会带来死亡。你们看，合乎上帝心意的忧伤使你们产生了何等的迫切感啊！你们热切地辩明自己的立场，对罪愤慨，恐惧战抖，期盼与我相见，疾恶如仇，惩处罪恶。你们在各方面已显明自己在那件事上是清白的。

我的子民因不认识我而遭毁灭。因为你们拒绝认识我，我也要拒绝让你们做我的祭司；因为你们忘记我的律法，我也要忘记你们的儿女。

他们任职时正值约撒达的孙子、耶书亚的儿子约雅金，尼希米省长和律法教师以斯拉祭司的时代。

王听了律法书上的话，就撕裂衣服，

因为无人能够靠遵行律法而被上帝视为义人，律法的本意是要使人知罪。

以色列人已经许久没有真神，没有祭司教导，也没有律法。

另外，你们哀哭悲叹，眼泪甚至淹没了耶和华的祭坛，因为耶和华不再理会你们的供物，不再悦纳你们所献的。

王听了律法书上的话，就撕裂衣服，

“你们去为我、为以色列和犹大的余民求问耶和华有关这书卷上的话。耶和华的烈怒已经临到我们身上，因为我们的祖先没有遵守耶和华的话，没有遵行这书卷上的话。”
